What has COVID made you thankful for? I'm thankful for COVID because if I was traveling, the bees would have eaten through more wall in my office and I would not have known. Yes it's that kind of year. 😫😳.

Indian cook in New York area - Does anyone know of an Indian cook who comes to your place and cooks a bunch of Indian food in the New York area? I used to buy meals from a lady who came to my place and cooked before covid, but she has now left New York. Thank you in advance!

I really do not understand my company's attendance policy. No sick or personal time and each time you have unscheduled PTO it's considered an occurence. Its super restrictive and during a pandemic you risk people coming to work sick spreading what could potentially be Covid. I just don't get it. I understand they are running a business but it just shows you really don't care about your employees at all but yet you want them to care about this company and the work being done here.

What type of self help strategies do individuals actually find helpful when you feel burn out or stuck in a rut? Any books, apps, meditation, podcasts, etc, others find helpful? I've done therapy and it has definitely helped this past year with covid and a marriage separation, starting to feel like I'm making progress and want to keep up the momentum. Looking to see what type of self help others find actually beneficial and would love to use that to help others stuck in burn out too

I have bad Sunday blues. I feel like I should just take xanax and go to bed. I am in a bad covid cycle of binge eating, starving, drinking too much, then being rigidly “good” for a few days then spiraling into the cycle again. I feel doom and can’t get off my couch. I went on vacation w family and had a good time last week. Back home alone I feel in a funk again. Funkier than Cold Medina. Just wanted to share with someone.

Lost retainer beginning of pandemic and haven’t been able to get replacement (Covid/Moving Out of State/ Other Priorities). Top teeth have shifted back to some extent, bottom teeth have built in retainer so haven’t moved. Back at parents home now and want to fix this mistake, what are realistic expectations? Full Invisalign program ~ 2-3k, Orthodontist to give me some break since we’ve already paid X thousand, some middle ground? Just want to try and be prepared on fair expectations.

I work near Detroit. My district says no masks are mandatory. My Open House seemed like a breeding ground for Covid germs. Plus with of course no A/C it was 110° in my room. Fun.

Thoughts on investing into rental properties vs putting money into market? Had 2 HUD rented properties and currently selling them and unsure whether to invest in purchasing another one or just use that money to buy stocks. I’m worried that low income renters will struggle with paying rent due to losing jobs because of COVID. Thoughts?

German court ruled that a Muslim man who refused to shake the hand of a woman should not receive German citizenship. He did not do so for religious regions. I am pro-immigration and also think people need to have freedom of religion, but at the same time it can be seen as discriminatory for women so got me wondering what’s acceptable and what’s not. Thoughts?

Slight vent: I had saved up a bunch of PTO to travel a ton this year (long-term project) which obviously got kicked to the dust and I have a bunch expiring this year because of that. Was looking forward to next year (including a family trip that’s been on the calendar for 2 years), but 3 people just left the team, only 1 will be replaced, and 3 more announced parental leave in spring. I have go lives through February and feel like I’m sprinting a marathon and will never get a break now.

My former and trusted colleagues who left earlier try to talk me to push myself further and leave after the bonus but i feel like a battle every day and every minute is so long and slow to pass by. Things that used to be easy and inspiring become difficult and suffering. Is anyone in the same position? How do you push yourself? Or should i just stop pushing and just leave.
