Hp gave 11k for table chair (last year) and 45k for hybrid work environment setup this year. The only thing that hp has not given is hike from last 2 years 😀

Q for the people that like WFH and never want to go back - what is your living situation? I hate WFH and can’t wait to be back in the office, so curious if other people have adapted better or if their environments are just more conducive to being successful (house with home office and family vs being alone in a 1BR apartment).

Serious question! I’m an agency recruiter. We’ve all had an amazing year. COVID brought a lot of lay offs and now companies need agencies to restaff. We’re looking at amazing commissions but I know this won’t last. Should I look into corporate recruitment or continue with agency for a few more years?

Feeling hurt as I saw my childhood friend (who I kept in touch with pre-covid) is out at a restaurant 5 minutes from my place. Used to do monthly zoom HHs with her the first 4-5 months of SAH but have since lost touch as I was being more cautious and she wasn’t due to (her reasons of) being single and not liking living with her elderly parents. I had offered to picnic but she never took the offer (and I haven’t seen her do it with other friends, she only dines at restaurants) (1/2)

Aight holiday gifts/tips for staff (mainly my PA) - I had heard as junior that it’s $100 per class year, so for example if ur a 3rd year it’s $300 to your PA. Is that the norm for your firm too, and same rule all the way up to senior year (so 6th year is $600…?) I love my PA but this year with WFH I really did not give her any work, but also we all get paid more what with covid bonuses so it seems extra grinch to not pay out. What’s your plan?

Posting on my wife’s behalf - We recently moved to the US and she is currently looking for a good role in HR consulting. She has previously worked with KPMG, McKinsey, Korn Ferry and WTW in Talent and Org. consulting practices in India for about 12 years. She also recently cleared her SPHR certification. It will be a great help if anyone can refer or aware of any job openings in NYC area. Thanks!

How hard is everyone pushing their corporate clients to authorize nonresident assignees whose only 2020 US compensation was the value of their 2019 tax preparation? My clients are pushing back on it this year, and I can't say I blame them. If I were in their shoes, I'd rather take the risk of not filing than the expense of filing again. From my own point of view, I don't really want to spend my time on such returns, either, even if the revenue and easy return are nice.

Currently senior 3 making around 170k (base + bonus). Is making a lateral move to another consulting firm for $200k (base + bonus) worth it? Work would be similar.
