When a senior with wife and kids put in his two weeks due to lack of work life balance and the response was that he can come in early at like 6am, skip lunch and work till 5pm, go home and have dinner and spend time with the wife/kids and log back on at 8pm until 12am. 🤦🏻‍♂️ He of course ended up leaving 😂😂😂

So this was back in 2014-2016 so I don’t know if things have improved, but it’s accepted because everyone was working those long hours and everyone wants to contribute. It’s just the culture of Big 4 that you work crazy hours and either get a nice 40 hour week job in industry or if you stick around you can make $300k plus. It’s the mentality that it accelerates your career, which is somewhat true because you do learn a lot since you work so much but looking back you can still learn a lot working 60 hours a week and not 80+ hours a week.

Being micromanaged.

I’ve completed the first interview with the hiring manager and a colleague, and have been fortunate to get to the next stage but im unsure how to prepare. I’ve done the usual compentencies, strengths and weaknesses and company research. But I don’t want to fail at the last hurdle as I really like this company and it would be a dream to work there any support or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
