For me, it’s volunteering to teach advertising to a group of middle schoolers and watching them have a blast putting together an ad campaign and pitching it in front of my agency.
Same account for 14 years across 4 ad agencies. #blessed
This was a long time ago now...when I was "hungry"....but I scheduled this two week vacation, and as it got closer it looked like we might have a new business pitch going on. We finally got the word it was gonna happen, and I said to my boss "Aw man...okay."
And I could tell he thought I meant I was gonna cancel my vacation. It never occurred to me to stay, but I could tell it would never occur to him to go.
I'm so happy I went on that trip. I'm proud that--even really liking my job-- I never even thought about cancelling something in my actual life just to do some pitch.
Ive made some stuff I really like.....but Im proudest I never gave up that much for advertising.
Mentoring younger co-workers, seeing them get promoted and then seeing them mentor others.
Career day at my daughters class with 4th graders. Her proud eyes were the most beautiful thing in the world.

You guys are so cute. I was just happy to finally hit 6 figures so I could actually have a life.
Consistently find/create and give my teams opportunities to step up and get some spotlight. I don’t “need” the spotlight.
Can’t lie... the karmic rewards have been pretty kickass.
Philanthropically, I worked with a program to teach adobe software to kids with ASD. Professionally, my partner and I came up with a campaign for a client we didn’t have. We went to pitch it directly to them, and they bought and made the whole thing almost exactly how we wanted.
I appreciate the few decent awards I've gotten. But I'm most rewarded by the times I've been able to help others.

@AD CI, it was through a NYC program called Citizen Schools. There a a number of different professionals from the tech, advertising, writing and business world who teach classes that help kids get a sense of why they will be doing professionally. It’s best if you can get a few coworkers to join with you (since it usually means you have to leave at 3pm one day a week) and your agency may be willing to sponsor.
