How does everyone in your house contract COVID at this day and age in America?

One parent gets a breakthrough case, transmits it to your children and then transmits it to you who is also vaccinated. The new variant still can infect even the vaccinated.

I thought the CARES Act provides additional support for families who get COVID and have to deal with it. Maybe take a look at it. Best of luck and wishes for a speedy recovery to everyone

If you have over 500 employees, you did not have to offer the Covid relief. The hope was that big corporations would do the “right” thing.

Under normal circumstances (I.e. pre Covid), is it much harder to get sponsored for actually academic courses like MA or MPhil as opposed to MBAs? People might say those are not as relevant as MBAs to business, but MBAs don’t strike me as anything particularly vocational either.

My sister is unvaccinated with no plans to get the vaccine. She is getting married this year, meaning lots of events. I am pregnant, high risk (CH mama from yesterday’s post), and can’t risk getting Covid again. What would you do? Do I ask her to get vaccinated for my/her future niece’s sake? If she doesn’t, should I sit out the wedding events?

Met with my boss today and was told “well you’re way better at your job than we expected...so keep doing that and just that. We might be able to have some more interesting work for you to do in 2-3 years”. Meanwhile...I am BORED TO TEARS!!!!!! And it’s tempting to quit, but I make more money than both of my parents combined EVER have, we had zero layoffs during COVID, and I really do love the people. At the end of the day...I guess I’m just hear to vent and to see if I’m the ONLY one.

New England Friends: we are a couple in early 30s (No kids yet and a small dog) planning to move to New England from Chicago. Our options are Hartford, CT and Boston, MA. Below are few considerations - 1. SO does not need to travel and will commute to work and I might need to travel when COVID is over. 2. Will prefer a dog friendly neighbourhood. 3. Both are from Midwest so winter does not bother us. 4. Planning to sell our condo in Chi and buy a SFH in the location. Any recommendations?

When NY was the epicenter for COVID-19 the rest of America shunned us and gave drivers a hard time in other states if our license plate was from NY. Now that NY actually flattened/reduced the curve, while the other states are a bumbling mess, can our governor Cuomo set a ban on all travelers coming in from other states? I would suggest a 14 day quarantine on all folks from outer states and a 30 day one for those from hot spot disaster states.

Not sure what the bonus is going to be next year (or if there will be any) since they are moving to a new bonus plan that is supposed to be more "fair and generous" We have a Safe harbor 401k plan. So get an automatic 3% contribution to 401K.
