Save up your vacation for a lump pay out. You can earn almost two months salary that way.
Consider it an investment in your success at your new firm. You need the time to unpack and reflect a bit, then shift your mindset to fully engage in your new firm. Don’t get caught up in the trap of avoiding obvious and direct costs at the expense of future and ill defined future benefits
going to agree with M1 - take 2 to 3 months off. you’ll never look back and say ‘man, i wish i started work earlier’
Re-charge. Go in with a fresh attitude to your new company
What if you die one year earlier? Look at long term impact of working 365 24/7
I've always taken 2-3 months between jobs...
Definitely worth the opportunity cost: when else do you get to truly relax with no work hanging over your head?
Think of it not as 1/2 of a month but 1/720 of a 30 year career...at a time when you probably haven’t maxed out earning potential (so denominator is probably much bigger)
I’m taking a 2 months vacay before starting a new job. I started my first job while doing my final exams in college so this is my break finally! Enjoy it while it lasts
If you can afford it take it! Use the time to regroup, refresh and prepare for your next job! Rushing from one job to the next is not always the best move.
Think of it as PTO and just make die you have the payout to cover it.
I consider that one of the benefits of starting a new job. It’s one of the few opportunities to truly have time off without having your inbox clog up with work
Take it as PTO
You get your PTO paid out, right? Just pretend it’s vacation.
How do you take it as PTO?
definitely PTO!!
Best vacation ever
