How many moved back home (i.e. with parents) because of COVID? Anyone else struggling with feeling like a failure to launch? I love all the money I’m saving (especially with a plan to go to B school), but I feel like a loser
Can we possible survive another four years of this administration? They're literally costing us lives every day in their mgmt of COVID
Here’s my confession. I only billed 900 hours this year because I started at the firm in February, got COVID, bought a house, got married, went on a honeymoon, and had surgery. But what I can say is all 900 hours of my work were quality.
For folks thinking of Accenture - Please avoid them as much as possible. Just got a note from ex colleague - they are being asked to provide Vaccine status information - if you dont comply - you will be receiving a decrease of 10% performance pay. Imagine what else they will enforce its employees more.
Can anyone explain how the CoVID-19 is affecting stocks, and therefore 401ks? Is it better to move over to Roth IRAs?
Year 2000 - let's get skilled immigrants in STEM to the US and MAGA. Lets also keep them slaved 2 work visas so they dont leave Year 2020 - I messed up Covid. We cant compete w them. Send them back
Interesting read about folks who won’t take vaccines. Lots of different rationales, but they all boil down to people thinking they’re smarter than experts (a common problem in modern America) and a general “you can’t tell me what to do” attitude. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/05/the-people-who-wont-get-the-vaccine/618765/
So due to start in London HR team. I understand there is a hybrid working model. However, this was pushed back due to the new COVID variant. Is there any further news?
While the impact of this Coronavirus has been mostly negative, at least one positive is that rare specialty pieces are now much more attainable. AD able to get many even without $ history.
I heard that Wharton differed ~20-30% of their applicants from last year (due to COVID) - does this mean that there are ~20-30% less seats for this years applicants? That coupled with ~20% increase in apps this year (just an assumption) will make it super hard to get in right? Anyone have insight?
Am I the only one looking forward to returning to the office on at least a part-time basis? By the amount of posts I see about people applying for remote roles or wanting to quit if they have to return to the office it seems like the minority view. I’m tired of talking to a screen all day. Bring on the energy of in-person brainstorms, internal reviews, and presentations to clients who are in the room.
Just got engaged and I’m responsible for planning our honeymoon. My fiancé and I have been approved for 2.5 weeks off and I’m hoping to bring 3 different options to the table. What ideas are out there? Wanting a combo between beach and mountains - doesn’t have to be in the US but with so many unknowns around covid I’d appreciate some lower 48 ideas. Thanks! EDIT: budget is around $4-5k
I’m just over a year in at a plaintiff’s PI firm doing mostly medmal. Numerous successes, including wins on motions and generated a few clients. I just looked at Robert Half, and the low end for my experience/location is $74k base salary. I’m not making anywhere near that. A couple of questions: is Robert Half’s salary guide accurate? If so, how should I go about approaching my boss about compensation? Note: no one received a salary increase/annual bonus due to covid to my knowledge.
Anyone have any side effects from the COVID vaccine, even a week or so after getting the second shot? Maybe it’s the antibodies building up...
For anyone worried about the COVID spikes lately. Percentage of total tests that test positive have been consistently flat since April. Not trying to downplay the pandemic as a whole, but I think the media should be showing more of this instead of number of new cases https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/testing/individual-states
Ha anyone successfully managed to ask for reduced rent from their landlord or apartment complex with the COVID situation this year? Have you found people to be understanding and flexible?
Have your firms conveyed any information about bonuses or promotions this year, due to coronavirus? Not looking too good for us
In the wake of COVID-19, do you think advanced practice providers should be able to practice more independently, especially in primary care settings?
I don’t have many friends and I don’t have a best friend.. this really weighs on me. I moved around my whole childhood, had a short studying-filled college experience and as soon as I started working COVID hit. I feel really alone and I’m not sure what to do, everyone around me seems to have lots of long lasting friendships. I had a couple close friends who ended up being very poor friends so I cut them off.. at this point I’m not sure if I even know how to be a friend or how to make one.

Consultants at companies that use Teams- are any of you being provided a Teams User Activity Report on a regular basis? Curious if it’s helpful at all in tracking billable hours.
Traveling for the holidays, and greeted with Accenture transforming business ads in every airport terminal. If only the firm can be as creative in their client engagements as they are in their ad making.
Post your age. Interested to see if there's a large spread or just us younger folks that haven't moved to industry yet
ACN folks, what are the pros and cons of TC vs MC? I'm in TC at the moment and have been thinking about switching to MC as my skills are more relevant there.
Has anyone moved to a more expensive city and successfully renegotiated their salary based on higher cost of living? If so, how? I have no biz case...just want to move to San Diego 😎🌴
I know birthday gifts are supposed to be personal, but I can't think of anything for my dad's 56th! The dude has everything. Any ideas or inspirations?
Told my date about my job and she asked if I'm a masochist. Laughed it off at the time, but now I'm starting to wonder...
