So my husband and I decided to go back to our original plan and starting to try for a baby next month. My daughter will be 18 months old and it’s been a struggle with work and her in general with covid and no daycare or outside help. I’m down to part time hours already with the intention of her hopefully being able to go to daycare in the summer or fall. I really want to complete my family but worry about not having help with two kids. Plus I dk how long it could take to get pregnant this time
Hi everyone! I am working with my HR to improve our maternity/paternity leave policy. Currently I only get 2 weeks fully paid and then an additional 8-12 weeks at 60% pay (short term disability). I need some examples of companies with less than 100 employees and what your maternity/paternity policy is. Please include company name! Thanks!!!

30 y/o, married, 1 kid on the way. Have about $250k cash sitting in my checking account and finally deciding to invest (already doing maximum retirement contributions and will do 529 when kid is born, so this would be in a taxable brokerage account). I have no idea where to start. I see a bunch of references to vanguard funds, etc. (mostly VTI and VOO), but wondering if folks have other recommendations. Really don’t want to pay an advisor, but I might if I can’t get comfortable doing it myself.
Hi Moms, I had my baby’s anatomy scan yesterday. The sonographer confirmed that all is fine with baby and he is developing good. But my scan lasted for less than 15 minutes and I am honestly concerned if he did thorough testing. And when asked why the scan ended so fast, he joked saying that all is well and he will let us know if things are not as expected. Said he has 40 years experience in doing this and baby was very cooperative during the scan. Curious if anyone’s scan ended so fast.
How hard is it to go in-house once you're a partner? I'm up for evaluation this winter at a smaller BigLaw firm, but I'm questioning whether that's the route I want to go long term. There are plenty of remote jobs in my practice area (patents/IP, computer science focus). Making matters more difficult is that my wife and I will be starting IVF in Jan., and I know parental leave/benefits don't kick in for a bit. If I go through the shareholder process, will it be hard to go in-house?
A few years ago I was living with my boyfriend in nyc in a cute little walk up and one bedroom. We got married and then had a baby, along with pets. cute walk up has turned in to a nightmare —we are constantly on top of each since there isn’t much space and I hate to lug the baby up/down the stairs when we go for a walk. Also stroller has to be dragged to the first floor. We wanted to move out of New York once we find job prospects but I don’t think I can tough it out anymore after one year.
Anyone have a child with a hearing loss? Looking to connect with someone with some practical advice on hearing aids.
Fresh transfer failed. My husband and I have decided we are done. The universe doesn’t want me to be a mother. I’ve finally accepted it and moved on. I just wish somebody had told me this would be my future as a little girl.
My baby will be 6 months at Christmas. The family is already asking what he needs. Any suggestions for necessities and/or gifts 6 months - 1 year age range?
Less than 3 weeks til due date and feeling kind of depressed. Work has scaled back significantly in preparation for baby so I'm bored and Omicron has forced me to isolate more just to be safe given how close I am to due date. Is this normal? Advice on getting through these next few weeks?
My kid is switching daycares tomorrow. His teachers were very sweet and kind to him. He has a close attachment to one of them. Is a gift card an appropriate gift or would that be unprofessional?
18 weeks pregnant (1st time) and have always been an active/fit person workingout 5x/wk cardio/treadmill and some weight lifting. I've toned down my workout routine since I found out I'm preg as I got 2 v diff advice from the NP I first saw then the OB/GYN herself. NP warned of exercising as this should not be my priority now (which I agree) he warned from any running/or weight lift (were talking 40-70 lbs). Ob was so flexible about it and said I can maintain my routine as long as not exhausted.
Just got a faint line from a pregnancy test and wondering, at what point do people typically tell their boss / team?? This would be our first child.
EY Parental leave question: how many weeks were you actually out? When I took my leave 3 years ago, I counted total of 21 weeks of leave. That’s including one firm winter holiday week. I remember I initially thought I would be back after 16 weeks, but then in the middle of my time off I got an email from Leave Team with the breakdown and it actually was 21 weeks. Can someone who took leave recently tell me the actual number of weeks?
What’s everyone’s top five quick nutritious meals for your kiddos? I feel like my kid has been eating the same five meals forever. Need fresh ideas. Much appreciated!
Anybody had success with Mosie baby ? Saw some good reviews on the website but looking for real feedback
Thinking about moving in with parents to save money? 26M and have about $100k in debt from college (25k personal loan/credit card & 75k student loan). After 12 months I should be able to pay off all CC debt and 1/2 student debt. Ultimately I want to be a good financial position to buy a house and stop wasting $$ on rent. Parents are supportive but curious if any any thoughts or past experiences?
I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!
Hi All, I joined PwC SDC as an SA about 5 months back and i'm still in under probation. I received an offer from Genpact for an 40% hike at AM designation. Would it wise to reach out to HR/Management with the offer letter and ask them for a raise? What are the chances they will accept it and what could be its potential impact on my annual appraisal & future at PwC? Given that PwC just gave a mid year 5% hike, what kind of hike and bonus can i expect in July, with 2/3 rating? Pwc sdc Genpact
Starting the interview process with Capital One, any recommendations? Do you like the company? Any thoughts would be helpful. 😊
That feeling when you’ve prepped your client extensively, but still get the feeling they’re going to crash & burn on you right out of the gate 😩
What is life like after 10/15 for Big 4 Tax? Can you take long vacations (3weeks - 1 month) after 10/15?
Can anyone give me some advice on VC interviews? Going through the process with a large GE shop at the moment and would appreciate some help!
I am looking into joining a seed stage startup that's been around for 1 year. I have 13 years of experience and am currently a senior people manager making $470k per year (salary plus equity). The salary for the startup job would be about 1/3 of my total comp. What is a reasonable equity percentage to ask for?
Many POC have expressed feeling as though they don’t fit in when working with predominantly-white teams. POC represent ~13% of the US. Given project teams of 6-10 (average in my practice), this would still result in only about 1 POC per project team if rep. was proportional to population. There would be more teams with 1-2 POC members, but I’m not sure that it would feel more diverse. Obviously raw number of POC is <13% for most companies and should be addressed, but does it fix this feeling?
Open to client-appropriate Halloween costume suggestions: Context: team told to dress up in throwback gear (70s/80s/90s) for Halloween Complication: new to firm, client, and Halloween (at work)
Hello is PwC hiring for entry level healthcare roles? Anyone willing to chat? Looking to move out of a small healthcare boutique firm and interested in knowing my odds at a Big4. Thanks 😌
So this might be a better place to post this and ask this question: Uncle D has announced explicitly that most people won’t get a pay raise & bonus this year except for those promoted and high performers. Amid this crisis, are companies including other big 3, MBB, FAANG, boutique consulting firms still giving high raises and issue stocks? Can you share the impact from your firm?
Does anyone have any experience with the relocation clawback provision recently? I took the payout option and have been preparing to move, but just found out I was approved for permanent remote work. I am grateful for the option, but still plan on eventually moving to the Bay area and if given the choice not until after a year or more. For employees who eventually did not end up moving within the year (but were still with Google) did the clawback provision still get exercised?
Those who do consulting for big 4. What’s your entry level pay for undergraduates in T1 cities?
The WH COVID task force daily briefings have become like that daily meeting which some annoying clients want. There’s nothing new that you have to say and hope that the client cancels.
Ill still take that cheese curl dough
How many days it takes to release offer letter from CTS. My interview done around month back and I have submitted all documents. Hr contacted me a week back and told me it'll get release in a week. But it's already 10 days I haven't heard anything from them? Will I get the offer or should I move on
So my home office is in city A and I got assigned to a job in city B. Would EY reimburse the flight if I’m flying from city C to city B?
My work office is in philly but i wfh in delaware. Why im i paying for both state taxes as well as philly tax. Is that right or do i need to make some adjustments. Im at PwC currently.
I work at an AmLaw 50 firm. We’ve been WFH like everyone (in theory... but the reality is people come and go into the office every day by necessity). We’re JUST NOW getting Microsoft teams. What a joke.
