EY senior managers in tech consulting make 200k? Which practice is this? I’m asking because that seems like a significant jump from what managers make

like

Depends on the firm and area of expertise. Outside of OW and MBB, you’re looking at $150-180K for a Senior Manager role in Tech in Toronto (Big 4/IBM/Accenture). This is total compensation. Could be more in this hot market.. if you have a hot skill set and the YOE. That’s probably where the $200K figure came from - but that’s not the norm.

Thanks!

Highly variable but most make close to 400k at the SM (principal) level.

like

Yes, principal is right between EM (PL) and partner. So typically about 8 years of experience but there is a wide range.

Any more details you can provide? The range you’ll get based on what you’ve provided will be broad. Even within the Big 4, some firms have a level in between SM and Partner while others don’t.

Definitely. I’d say your base salary would be about $170k +/- 10%. Bonus could be as high as 25% of base depending on performance, but more likely would be about half that. This would be somewhere where Director comes after SM.

It’s Canadian compensation, it might as well be $3.50

Question for you all: Left D to Company A for a 50% raise in TC and slated to start in <1 week. However, just got an offer at Company B for a 100% raise in TC compared to D, or 30% raise in TC compared to company A. Both firms do similar work but B provides a more solid comp package. Job duties would be relatively similar. Is the % jump worth burning the bridge? Would have chosen Company B if the offer came sooner but the % difference in A to B is at my [personal] 30% threshold. TIA!

I was rejected at Netflix right after passing the recruiter screening. The reason given is that they're looking for someone who has worked on longer-term projects. I worked on my last project for 2 years and have a 6 year project on my resume as well. I guess they don't like that I've been an independent consultant for the last four years and was on 4 projects during that time. Has anyone else encountered this kind of bias against independents working on shorter-term projects?
