In the summer months I'll do keratin. In winter I'll use olaplex #3 and a hair oil. In summer months my hair gets super frizzy so I need something stronger
Different hair types have different treatments.
I did permanent keratin treatments, that were pretty much like a relaxer. Thinned out my hair, so I stopped doing them. I think the less permanent ones I didn't have damage, but I also really didn't see a difference in my 3C/ 4A curls.
I have long dry frizzy / curly hair- my mom calls it my jewfro - which, eye roll, but it paints an accurate image of my hair. Brazilian blowouts were amazing. It truly worked for smooth, glossy, manageable hair. It was like a shampoo commercial. It was amazing… until it wasn’t. After a few years of every 3-4 month treatments I developed an allergy to two of the main ingredients in the Brazilian Blowout formula and that allergy cascaded into a bunch of related-chemical-family allergies and now I can’t use a majority of hair and beauty products in existence. Coincidence? Maybe. But acquired allergies are the result of ongoing use tripping histamine reactions when the buildup of an item trips an internal tolerance “balance” - eg we are all sensitive to things but the more you use them, at a certain point your body says enough and it becomes an allergy so… Brazilian Blowouts in retrospect were the devil.
For what it's worth, I would do some research on your hair's porosity and density and figured what it wants. It's either moisture or protein, or a balance of the two.
I found out my hair needs protein to look fab, when I had been drowning it in moisture.
I figured out midway through WFH that my hair was naturally wavy/curly after years of blowdrying/straightening it and just thinking it was fluffy, since I wasn't heat styling anymore.
I watched a bunch of YouTube videos on the curly girl method and wavy girl method.
I love the channels manes by Mel and Swavy Courtney, both are super informative.
I fricking love my hair now, it's the healthiest it's been:)

Brazilian blowout + weekly Olaplex 3 masks
Absolutely. The olaplex 8 after using the shampoo and conditioner is great too
It depends a lot on the type of hair i think🤷♀️
Havent heard the Keratin/Brazilian blow out treatments working for curly hair Vs the straight hair people swear by them
Mine is somewhat wavy but super dry, by no means is it curly though. It looks a sad mess after hair washes.
Brazilian blowout makes my hair frizz free for at least 6 months. It isn’t a straightener. But, it’s awesome!
I also heard amazing things about Magic Sleek.
I got the Brazilian a few times and liked it! Felt like it wore of in a month tho
Were you using the Brazilian Blowout shampoo and conditioner? I found that using their brand’s products elongated the life of the treatment. It prevented me from accidentally using ingredients that make it wear off sooner.
Just to note - chlorine will kill the treatment. So don’t get it if you plan on spending time in a chlorine treated pool!
I've tried multiple treatments of keratines and those usually last 2-7 months.
what's worked most for me is matrix optismooth.done properly, that would last me a year .. try finding a matrix salon or buying it off Amazon . and tbh now I'm just embracing my curls
