Does anybody have experience with Microsoft Federal? I.e. what sorts of projects do they do for the USG, how does it stack up against McK / BCG federal work as an exit opp, how is the salary ladder, etc. Thank you!
I started a new role in BizOps over the summer at a late stage FinTech startup making $150K base ($15K signing bonus) and stock options. I previously worked at a T2 consulting firm and went to a non-HYP Ivy for undergrad. Have 4 YOE (will be 5 at matriculation) I’m debating whether I should pursue an MBA. Long term goal is entrepreneurship / FinTech for developing economies. I don’t think I’d want to go back into consulting and I don’t think PE/VC is very feasible either. Any thoughts?
After 6 months of interviewing, I finally got an offer with a start-up! Went from $160k total comp in a tier 1 city to $195k total comp in a tier 2 city. If you’re job searching - don’t give up, you can do this!! 👏🏻
Hi 🐟, I just got invited to interview at Microsoft for a Sr. Program Mgr role for cyber. Anyone knows what will be the different types of interviews (number and nature of interviews such as behavioral, case or technical) and what kind of comp (base, bonus, rsu) i can expect at this level.
Thinking about leaving the PM/Product Owner life. Would like to do something new, creative and keep current salary range. When researching for a major career pivot, what are some resources used to ‘see what’s out there’? Thanks!
Interviewed for Deloitte Tech Strategy SC and got a verbal offer for Consultant instead. I negotiated the offer to 120K salary and 10K signing bonus. I’m a boomerang with 4 years ERP consulting but this past year I’ve been doing DEI Consulting. Spoke with former colleagues who rejoined Deloitte and got much higher offers for SC. How do I go back to the recruiter to negotiate further? I suggested that I’d probably sign but needed time to think. Now I’d like to go back and request 140k salary.
Hey y’all, what’s Tax senior 1 in Big 4 compensation look like in the Southeast? Looking to come back home from a high COL northeast. Mainly looking at Charlotte, NC. Responses are much appreciated 😊
Hi pwc folks. What would be a reasonable compensation for App and Emerging tech Manager role US at Pwc with 12 years of experience. Currently at Accenture. Having a partner round next week. Hoping that goes fine.
Consulting Partner currently at $325k OTC base/bonus structure. Way under valued. In final rounds with Microsoft for a level 66/67 role, targeting base/bonus/ equity model. 20 years of experience, living in medium cost of living location. I'm looking to finally get comped according to the value I bring. Any advice on what a reasonable target comp splits I should strive for at Microsoft? Maybe negotiate level 68? Maybe 200k base / 40 annual bonus / 300k annual equity? Or $1M OTC? Thoughts?
If you didn’t file to be a part of a class action lawsuit and a settlement for the initial cohort was already reached and you just found out you qualify to be a plaintiff, can you still receive compensation or is it too late?
Let’s discuss gender pay gaps by assessing our own discrepancies. I’ll start. I’m a 29 YO female, almost 6 years experience total, at a 115 base, guaranteed 126 if I meet utilization, with potential for more bonus. No target school or MBA. I’m happy with where I’m at, but are my male counterparts on here making more or relatively the same?
Speaking from a compensation POV, being in which practice is the most rewarding across firms?
I‘m planning to move to Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur temporarily for 1-2 years working for a MBB consultancy. I’m struggling to decide which city to choose. Salary seems to make little difference. How would you decide and why? (for context: moving alone from France, late 20th, m)
For those in tech - what’s a reasonable salary bump/stock refresher to ask for at the one year mark? I know it’s a lot less structured than consulting so would love to know your thoughts

Any idea how is the PWC Deals practice? Type of projects, growth opportunities etc. a recruiter teached out to me for a manager role. What is the base salary and bonus that I can expect?
Deloitte offered me very less. 7.6 lpa for 3.8 YOE and BTA role. Before joining 2 weeks, if I demand I need min 10 lpa for my experience and market standards else I won't join, will they revise my offer?
So I’ll be receiving a ~120k USD lump sum next spring. If you were in my shoes, would you: A) Purchase a ~350K home (in Orlando) with 20% down. Remaining 50k in stock market B) Just DCA it all into market Further context: Will likely be at grad school for 1.5-2 years following that. Will have an income from scholarship stipend but it'll only cover expenses. Also unsure how that'd work with mortage application if I don't have an ability to provide proof of income.
With over 15 yrs marketing, tech and ops consulting in agencies, tech and startups, is it worth even considering roles in MBB or similar? Any advice is welcome. Deciding on staying independent or not
I will currently end as Plat Pro in American due to promotion but thinking of switching to United in 2020. I spend about 14-15K in a year but don’t have enough QS/QM to re-qualify for Plat Pro (cont.)
Switching team internally competing with external candidates. was asking a promotion for next grade midpoint but was ok to accept >=50% hike which i told hiring manager before the process start itself which he said will consider if I'm the one selected. Attended 5 rounds-- 1 coding, 2 technical, 1 managerial, 1 hr. Now after 2 months telling me I'm the selected one, but offering me just 20% hike and same grade Any chance for negotiations? Any tips or guidance are appreciated. please help
Have you participated in LeanIn Circles at your firm? Thoughts? Also, let's please keep the gender issue hating comments civil if they come at all
Rolled of my first project due to conflict of interest with client. Do I still have a shoot at gsap?
Hi guys. This is a question for persons in Canada. I have a friend who recently arrived in Canada. He has a Bachelor's in Physics from his home country but he wanted to build a career in Accounting. His plan was to pursue the PREP Accounting program with CPA Canada (which gives you access to the CPA program) and then to pursue CPA. But he was concerned whether he would be limited in his career because this plan would mean he would not have a Bachelor's in Accounting. Anyone thoughts?
Working with a few firms (V25-50) on a potential lateral to income partner. Any thoughts on salary range? Am I safe to assume it is (perhaps significantly) higher than a 2013 associate since I am quite a bit older? It’s hard to gauge a target range to negotiate.
My salary is 92,000 paid bi-weekly, and paycheck deductions amount to 31.7%. 6% is 401k and about 1.4% is medical/dental/vision leaving 24.3% tax rate between state (NJ) and federal. Does this sound right or too high? I don’t claim any exemptions on my w4
Should I buy nyc real estate? I’m 24, have no debt, and currently TC is 150k. Currently, I have 110k in savings + 401k and just started to get into investing. By June 2021, I’ll have at least 150k from savings, 401k, etc. I just got started investing this month in the stock market but now I’m thinking about real estate. There are condos in JC and brooklyn for 400k which doesn’t seem too bad but dont know if I’m being way unrealistic. I’d appreciate any advice!
I never developed boundaries as a child and now it’s messing me up personally and professionally. Where do I begin fixing myself? Any books, podcasts that may help ?
I moved from B4 to industry accounting about 5 years ago. I currently work as a corporate accounting manager at a software company. I recently hired an big 4 audit senior right out of public and I’m struggling to get him up to speed. Does anyone have an example of reasonable vs unreasonable expectations for a senior accountant moving to industry after 2-3 years at B4 audit?
Expecting our first baby in a month and as a male I have no idea what to expect; insurance does not include any videos / content to help prepare. Any leads to free content / paid content to help me prepare?
Why is maternity leave, policy and other women's issues not important as compared to Juneteenth, coed bathrooms, and all the other issues in the media today? Women are half the population and at an average of 2.1 kids per woman, these are major issues. Are we not vocal enough? Organized enough? Not a serious voting demographic? Too grateful things are better in this generation? What is it? Why does 50% of the population matter less compared to these smaller marginal groups?
Just sharing this here for fun because I’ve seen some posts about how much cars cost in the US. Here in Singapore, you pay up to ~US$60K to just own the rights to buy and own a car for 10 years (the cost of your average car is another US$40K+)!!
