What is a good suggestion for a weekend mom-baby/toddler date? Reconnecting with old college friends with toddlers/babies. Not sure what to suggest. Brunch? Morning walk?

walks are great as the kids can stay contained. maybe get coffee and cookies and then go for a walk and then head to a park. once you are at the park it could be hit or miss on howuch you can talk given where all the kids disperse. being at someone's house is best.

With no kids involved would suggest dinner but in this new life stage figure something in the morning is right for those with very young kids and babies? Like a walk and picnic or brunch and play at someone’s house?

Kids cafe?

Does anyone have a yard you could set up a kiddie pool in? That is always good fun

Indoor play places, sometimes community centers have good toddler play areas. Kid friendly coffee shop, community churches that run coffee shops are often toddler friendly. Botanical gardens, park with toddler playground if the weather is nice. Stroller walks are fun if the kids will sit for them (mine wouldn’t by the time they were 2). Kids museum. Most relaxing is actually a play date at someone’s house.

Brunch could be stressful if they don’t want to sit still/sit still for a while - maybe a location where they can run around a bit?

Walks with coffee, picnic at the park, there’s a place in Indy where it’s a coffee shop for the adults and a play place for the kids (very popular!)

Returning to work and realizing that between the nearly 10 hours she is at daycare and driving to and from, I’m spending like 2-3 hours a day with my baby. Most of that is eating, taking a bath and getting ready for bed.. Wife and kid are going to be out of town for the next 2 weeks. Instead of wasting time, I’d like to do something productive. What would you do if you have say 3+ hours a day. Maybe self help, wealth creation type books, work out daily, take care of some things around the house.

Having coffee now and so grateful

Advice/experiences please. About 5 weeks pregnant and feel like total trash... basically like I have a flu (but 99% sure I don’t, it’s just the pregnancy). Could I or should I try to take some sick days? It feels like that should be an option (esp now with covid and unlimited sick days) but I feel like I never hear of anyone doing this. I also don’t want to tell my work what the “sickness” is. I just finished a project so no one is relying on me right this second. What would you do?

Hi everyone. My father in law is going thru chemo therapy. I’ve not really had the best relationship with them but would like to support them and my husband. Visiting in person every week is hard for me … matching his medicine schedule with work schedule. I asked my husband to help me figure out how/when to see (continued)

Having grown up in the lower middle class and not with much money family wise, I always thought one day when I made six figures I would have tons of money coming in, but lately I am discouraged with my “take home pay”. Combined my wife and I make about $275k, we max both our 401k accounts out and after all taxes, and other deductions we take home roughly $150k. Don’t get me wrong this is a great amount. I just always dreamed my take home would be more. Anyone else feel this way? We lose over 40%

I get 110k as base, and got a 10k sign-on bonus. They said min bonus is 15k, but I’m not sure what the range is as I haven’t been around for a bonus cycle. This in a HCOL city. I also get 30% match in my retirement accounts. I have ~2 YOE. Thoughts?

Was about to accept an offer with a smaller brand strategy firm and got a push to interview with Deloitte for a partnerships lead position that really matches my profile…but love the culture of the smaller firm. Go for big brand name and bigger check, or growth and connection at smaller firm with exciting work??
