A Mat release is something that’s found in a time capsule from 2004
NAPS and MAT are super old school and often go to tiny publications. Manage expectations depending on how you’re being held to tracking metrics/etc bc it can be challenging (from past experience)
Contributed content. Written like a feature instead of a press release. NAPS is what I've used in the past.
I’ve used family features for healthcare. It is a crapshoot. I’ve had good placements with Mat releases, but have also had placements in tiny publications next to an advertisement for an adult massage.
Thanks. Do you have any insight into Brandpoint or Family Features, although I think the latter is only food.
These are an anachronism and would not waste time.
Nice use of the word anachronism, P1. Not a word you hear everyday!
Thanks! We're looking at Brandpoint, but I'll check out NAPS too!
They'll also help you edit for better placement.
What are you using this for/ what are your goals? I would strongly recommend pushing back on a client (or god forbid, someone in your agency) asking for this. You’ll get “impressions” because it may get picked up in the penny saver, but you will be much better off writing a good pitch and picking up the phone to get one placement with media relevant to your audience.
Agree with other comments. It’s cheap and should only be used as an add on tactic and not the main output.
