Max this out before anything
Invest the money contributed. Save all your medical receipts but dont reimburse yourself/pay out of HSA right away
After 2-30 yrs use whatever your invested HSA grows to and pay yourself back up to the amount that you kept your medical receipts. No taxes here on contribution, nor growth, nor withdrawal
If your invested amount exceeds your med receipts or foreseeable med expenses, withdraw and pay tax on it just like a traditional IRA or 401k
No brainer here - max it out, invest it and dont use it for 30 yrs
This is solid advice and we’re on our third year doing the HSA family max. Had 1 year as single and 2 years at family. Now at $20k before adding this years funds.
Max it out if you’re able! It’s triple tax advantaged. Max is 3550 if you’re single
Max it out!
This is all extremely helpful - thank you!!
Agree on max out and invest. Take it from someone who didn't and sorely regrets it lol!
