Is anyone familiar with average or competitive salaries for business planning and analysis? I’m the sole manager/employee of my function for a midsize IT firm in thE OC of SoCal. I wear many hats outside my direct duties and help keep our entire Business Unit/Commercial Side running smoothly (about 15 of us total). My dilemma… I am an injury adjuster at a carrier experiencing high inventory that’s barely manageable. A competitor offered a higher salary and manageable workload. BUT, I would like to get into underwriting. I applied for UW position w/ a different carrier and they’ve made an offer. It’s lower than my current salary and significantly lower than what I’d make by taking the first offer. Do I take the high salary and stay in claims or go for UW in hopes it will be best in long run?

I have been employed with them for 17 years and honesty, it’s a great company to work for. I have been in management for over 7 years at this point, completing everything from culinary management to both ends of service management, I have also completed my general management assessment. My pay has only increased on average of less than 3% per year with one year at 6%. I have never negotiated my salary before, is this too low? If so what is good increase for a company that continues to excel?

I’m curious to other’s experiences in negotiating outcomes. There is a job I really want, but would need 25%-30% than what they offered for it to make sense.

6 years at a start up and the first to break through Mm and now Ent accounts. I broke the comp plan. I was paid a lower commission rate as the first rep hitting high numbers. The guys behind me they adjusted commission rates and spiffed them to equal and in some cases surpass my pay. My revenue as the top rep is a full third higher than the number 2 rep. To save their asses they promoted me and gave me a small base bump but kept my commissions % low so that my high number was my new at plan.

I effectively received the agreed amount of money on my latest salary slip but I didn't sign any "new" contract. Is this normal? How does this work? When I was promoted 3 years ago it was to take the place of the DOO that resigned, who was making 6 figures, and doing a quarter of the work that I do. They have me at $63,000 salary, but I work 60-70 hours a week due to the work load. Now they hired a new marketing employee, that was started at double my salary, and I feel very offended by this. Hey! I got an offer today from R@kuten for Sr Business Analyst of CAD $110K+15% annual bonus. Verbally in conversation with recruiter I had asked for CAD 115+10% annual bonus. I was initially offered $110k+10% annual bonus. I think I’ve already priced myself low which might be decent (not sure) for Toronto but way less in comparison with Bay Area where most of team will be based off. I’ve been a general manager for a convenience store for almost 2 years now. I have raised profit after variable expenses by 13% compared to last year, and exceeding budgets in almost every category except for turnover. I got an 11% raise last year, but still only make $55k. My store profits about 17k a month on inside sales, and 160k a month in fuel. I think I deserve more, but I don’t know how to ask for it, and don’t know how to begin a job search aside from indeed. Hello! I was recently contacted by tech recruiters for PMM roles and they both shared job descriptions for 12 months contract coming with a fixed salary. I was wondering if there would still be room for negotiations during interviews with hiring managers or these recruitment agencies are supposed to hire contractors within the budget. What are the usual compensations you can negociate when you are not directly contacted by the client? Is limited to salary & bonuses?

I know that you can negotiate a signing bonus to make up for bonuses or stock options you're leaving on the table by leaving a company, but can you negotiate a signing bonus for un-vested options in a privately held company? If so, how do you know what to ask for? I have about 2000 shares vesting in late October but the company mentioned a start date in early September. The strike price is like $5 and the current valuation for the 2k shares is like $40k. Company is probably 3+ yrs from IPO.
