You may need to start around $65k and then look for ways to work your way up to increase your salary.
I agree with DMS1. It will be within that range. You can always negotiate for a higher rate. If not, then try to gain experience first and work your way up.
According to salary.com entry level journalists' salary for Rupert Murdoch's newspapers ranges from $30k to $47k. So, what you're expecting is a little too much for entry-level. But nothing's impossible. You just have to work you're way up.
Hi! $55-60k is a fair amount. I think it is an appropriate salary for an entry-level reporter for a digital newspaper.
I think 60k is pretty reasonable as the top end of the line, might be negotiable based on your educational background too
Entry level positions are generally around 30k-45k unless you have the education and job experience to have it pushed to 65k — in which case it wouldn’t be an entry level position anymore.
It would start at around $70k I guess. I agree with MC1. If ever the negotiation fails, you can gain experience first and then ask for higher pay.
