An underrated skill that every marketer should have is copywriting. Copywriting is the art of writing persuasive and interesting marketing materials, such as website content, email newsletters, and social media posts. Good copywriting can be the difference between a campaign that falls flat and one that resonates with customers and generates leads.

The ability to separate yourself from your work/ideas. You won’t get anywhere if you’re so emotionally invested in your ideas or your work that you can’t take criticism or see potential holes. You need to be passionate about creating the best finished product - and collaboration and constructive criticism will get you there.

Adaptability, many times we don't want to work with a brand because the product is not to our liking, but our job is to make that brand improve, not that we like it, adaptation is crucial but little is said about it.

I think it kind of depends on what marketing discipline and the company!

The ability to make sense of complex ideas and concepts quickly

The ability to pivot!
Marketing is a field that is always changing so the ability to adapt, hop on trends, and just evolve overall is so important!

Writing. Good god, writing. Nothing ruins your credibility more than having multiple glaring typos in a piece of writing, whether it’s an email or a web page.

Have you interviewed for a job where you haven’t even spoken to the recruiter? At this company I’ve dealt with the interview scheduler, hiring manager and even a panel for my second interview with the director and another senior manager…but no recruiter.

I reached out, but still nothing…so I don’t even know the real comp, benefits or specifics of this job. Has anyone encountered this? I’m thinking I’d speak to the recruiter once an offer is made.

I’m a recent grad & began my first career as a marketing coordinator. It’s been quite frustrating to say the least. The company doesn’t understand the purpose of marketing, & recently hopped into the digital world - many of which don’t find it valuable. On the other hand, my manager assigns me lots of copy projects to do & either doesn’t give me informational feedback or completely disregards my work. Before I was hired, she knew exactly how my writing style was like but doesn’t use it. Help! :(

Anyone here working at Dreamworks Animation, @disney studios, @cartoon network Dreamworks Animation or Nickelodeon

My 19yo daughter is attending a State school for animation and she’s worried that it’s not a top school for job placement. Her professor pointed out that she’s “too talented” for the school she’s at now. She’s thinking to transfer to a top school in California or FL

I’m looking for creatives working in animation field or related who can provide some mentorship to my daughter.
