What is consulting like at SAP(the company)? Supply chain consultant with 2 YOE at big 4. Mostly just curious what the difference is working for SAP directly? Is the pay/benefits any good?

I’m curious as well. I haven’t been on the inside but I’m not impressed with their consultants - they only are able to solve technical and not business problems (maybe that’s deliberate so they don’t compete with B4/ACN/IBM?). They’re deeply skilled but single-threaded and don’t seem to have skills outside their direct competency

like

I agree, typically pretty single threaded, which would be fine, but they are there to help with a specific industry application they claimed to be experts in. I have also always felt like they never act like “part of the team” even if we are paying for them to help us build something (minimal contact with team, won’t use team productivity tools). This is just my anecdotal experience, but I’ve heard similar points from colleagues With that being said, they have been really helpful at times. And I’m sure there are others who are incredible

I was a consultant at SAP for about 5 years before switching to Deloitte. It’s a great place to work. Pay is not as good as B4, but better WLB.

You want to be a consultant for a company that sells software? Why be a second class citizen?

Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls

New to investing, but want to make sure I'm doing this correctly. I've maxed out my 401K and am looking to open an IRA. I know everyone recommends backdooring this into a Roth IRA, but if my plan is to move/retire to a state with no state income tax, wouldn't traditional make more sense? Or am I overthinking this? Also, if I go the backdoor route, how do I make sure I don't get taxed again, when i convert to a Roth? Thanks in advance!
