Bain & Company I’m currently prepping for Bain & Company and McKinsey & Company interviews scheduled in the next 2 months. For those that interviewed with both, how would you suggest I tailor my preparation for each one? I understand McKinsey is interviewer led while Bain is the opposite. But other than that, is there anything else I should work on separately for each one?

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

I’m curious as well. I haven’t been on the inside but I’m not impressed with their consultants - they only are able to solve technical and not business problems (maybe that’s deliberate so they don’t compete with B4/ACN/IBM?). They’re deeply skilled but single-threaded and don’t seem to have skills outside their direct competency
I agree, typically pretty single threaded, which would be fine, but they are there to help with a specific industry application they claimed to be experts in. I have also always felt like they never act like “part of the team” even if we are paying for them to help us build something (minimal contact with team, won’t use team productivity tools). This is just my anecdotal experience, but I’ve heard similar points from colleagues
With that being said, they have been really helpful at times. And I’m sure there are others who are incredible
I was a consultant at SAP for about 5 years before switching to Deloitte. It’s a great place to work. Pay is not as good as B4, but better WLB.
You want to be a consultant for a company that sells software? Why be a second class citizen?
