Not to mention, the out of control homeless situation.

Here is Pasadena.

Home to CalTech. Home to lots of NASA/JPL employees. Former Armenian enclave. Very affluent and has s notable social class divide (the 210 separation of the nice and less nice sides of Pasadena).
Large Black population, including some very affluent and well established Blacks that call Pasadena home.
Abysmal public school system which mostly caters to Latinos ans Blacks. All the rich people send their kids to pvt schools. Kind of a shame, really.
Y’all this has been awesome. Thanks for all the responses and neighborhood adds!
Westside?
Gotta break it down... west side is BROAD
Inland empire?
The inland empire is nice in the west but gets more backwards the farther inland/east you go.

BCG1: yes, Monterey Park could somehwat be considered as part of East LA given its close proximity.
Excellent place for Chinese food and some of the best public schools in LA County.
Mid city/mid Wilshire?
Live in mid city - I think it is actually the best place to live to get anywhere in LA city. But I also live close to the 10.
Brentwood/Westwood?

Love Brentwood, currently live there and have no complaints
Downey?
This is true. Baldwin Hills equivalent-ish
Sherman oaks/van nuys?
Sherman Oaks and Encino are fun esp. along Ventura Blvd. Homeowners are a lot of new money and celebs leaving BH and Hollywood. Renters are your average working class.
Culver City?
House prices in culver are out of control, but super convenient place to be. I love Playa Vista and Westchester for proximity to LAX and beaches.
You forgot Playa Vista - truly an area all its own
For people who want to pay more than Playa del Rey for a cookie cutter place, be 3+ mi from the beach, and have obscene HOAs.
Baldwin Hills?
Rich black people (thanks to redlining policies). Commonly known as black Beverly Hills.
OP forgot some so here we go:
WeHo?
NoHo?
Studio City?
Burbank?

Studio City: one of my favorite areas of LA. Best sushi that LA has to offer. Ventura Blvd food and drink scene is dope. Lots of celebrities of various tiers, as well as film and entertainment crowd in general.
WeHo: LGBT capital of California, arguably of the US as a whole. Great nightlife, comedy clubs and shopping.
NoHo: traditionally a high crime and gang infested area, but now improving. Major upside potential. Amazing food scene of various types.
Burbank: Media capital of the world due to all the studios, production companies and their corporate offices. Not the easiest area on the eyes, but overall a decent place to live I suppose. Good public schools.
Mar Vista?
I heard better version of CC

Here is Inglewood:
Agree M1. I think people have been buying speculatively. But I do expect the neighborhood will evolve in the next few years.
Manhattan beach? Or is that part of another I missed somewhere above?
Good to know, thank you!

Here is Woodland Hills

-Ridiculously hot in the summer - went up to 120F degrees this past summer
-Westfield Topanga mall
-Convenient to Topanga and Malibu
-Reasonable corporate presence (KPMG and Deloitte have pretty big offices here, I believe)
-Some spillover petty crime from neighboring Canoga Park, but nothing out of control
-Large Jewish community, lots of Persian Jews
-Large Indian and Sri Lankan community, and decent sized Pakistani community.
-The communities mentioned above spill over into Calabasas as well.
