far less stressful than strategy consulting, longer projects. it can be challenging starting out as you are put in front of a client and have no idea how things work, but after putting in a few years of looking stupid you will eventually master your skillset. then your job becomes more enjoyable because you know all of the answers and each project becomes relatively routine. you can make a good amount once you hit sr manager (200-300k), managing director (300-500k), partner (500k+) or if you go independent you can make 200k-500k in your 20s depending on how many projects you want to take on at a time. no technical education or background is necessary but you have to be analytical and an excellent communicator. most people have business/ IT / comp sci / industrial engineering backgrounds from pretty good schools. or you might get some ivy league liberal arts types too.
Learn SQL in your free time. It’s honestly mostly project management, learning business processes, and learning the tool. You’d probably have to take a step back to do it and it usually pays a lot less but it’s alright

It’s a decent living, and if you’re really good, you will make a lot too (I’m doing $200k+)
But it’s a grind for sure
