What is getting me through busy season: wake up at 6:30 to get an hour of exercise in no matter what, wallow in self-pity every 2 hrs for 5 mins, 30 mins no screen dinner. But most importantly, job interviews through out the week to get out of public accounting.

I quit my previous job approximately 5-6 months ago due to toxic culture and being pressured to commit fraud… I fear hiring managers see that I’ve been out of work for this time and may assume I was fired or laid off. Additionally I’ve had a couple interviews where company “X” interviewers have commented on this and in an effort to not bad mouth my previous employer I’m stuck with a generic answer like I want to take my career to the next level with Company “X.” Any thoughts/advice?

Hi everyone, I’m looking at making a career move from operations to sales, specifically tech. I say this because on my team I’ve created a niche for myself as the go-to tech person and was heavily involved in choosing software for multiple systems supported by Ops. Whenever I hear someone pitch to me about software, I always have to pitch back to my non-tech savvy team about which software we need and why. I’ve always been told I’d be good at sales, how do I switch over?

I recently was offered $71,400 and countered at $75,000. Three days passed at at 2pm on Friday I get an email from the HR rep blackberry stating “How does $72,500 sound?”. We have a follow up call on Tuesday. Because it was in a question form I assume I can negotiate more. If they aren’t able to come up to $75k would you try for more PTO or a sign on bonus or guaranteed bonus? Something I don’t think they’d go for. I had two interviews.

It feels like my pay and title are lower than my scope of duties. I manage Youtube channels and do all strategy, planning, talent management, rework content for socials, reporting, graphic design, + a bunch of other stuff. Do you think I should be something like Video Content Manager? A Strategist maybe? My company doesn't have career pathing & I think they'd be happy to keep giving me more work with the same pay. Hi everyone

I'm in a business development role based in Asia. May I get your thoughts/pointers on the CAIA?

I'm aware that the CAIA is not as popular in Asia compared to the CFA. From my knowledge, there are no CAIA holders in my current firm within the Asian region, despite dealing with alternative investments.

Would be happy to hear your thoughts regarding the CAIA, and study tips if you have any!
