I started a consulting job at an upper mid-tier firm back in May. I sat on the bench for a month before being onboarded onto client (FAANG client to be non-specific) and I am more than a month on this new client. Final round interview was back on Monday, 9/20. Recruiter said I’ll hear back by Friday, 9/24. No contact from recruiter so I reached out Tuesday, 9/28 and recruiter says no updates yet and scheduled a call with me later in the week to discuss. During the call, met with the reasoning that partners are still finalizing budget for next year and can’t extend me an offer yet, but have positive feedback from the final round. This normal or do you think the new firm is prioritizing other candidates?
