I'm going to just look at this financially since I don't know you personally. So 13 hours a day for 10-15 years doesn't seem very healthy esp if you're trying to have a family or lasting relationships? It may be easier just to stay somewhere in the mid to high 100s at a good job/role with better WLB and invest a good portion of your money into investments. 40K invested a year for 10 years at 10-15% (assuming mostly S&P500 and a few bets like tsla or gbtc) would get you 600-750K by the end of that run which has the potential to double every 7-8 years (so basically a Multi M by the time u decide to retire) without putting a single dime after. Then again if you grind it out and make partner you could easily make that in a year but you'd have to have the discussion of at what point is it enough money?

It’s worth it. Long hours yes, but you get better at managing them and balancing outside time commitments.

For a SC, You sure ask questions like an A… bump that 15 years to 25 years for me please.

That makes a hell lot of sense except not everyone has exposure to all the different areas ppmds contribute to. There is sales, practice development, relationship management but all of these impact life differently. I am not taking about holidays in Spain, what I am taking about is all the effort that you put to own a piece of the firm vs the things you loose, is it worth it ? 2) Are you saying consultants don’t grind a minimum of 60 hours per week ? Because then You are an exception. People at Deloitte don’t cry for no reason and don’t look for opportunities outside for no reason. 3) Well not everyone is an academic like you at heart, while there is no mention of money there everyone simply assumed it is focused on money. But even if it is - not everyone works because their work interests them. Some people hustle to bring food for their families and that is to be respected. Of course entitlement will always want to make some people look at more worthy reason such as growth etc.

Honestly, I think it’s worth it at an MBB, big 4 partnership has no use in industry and you earn much less than MBB partners

You are not as valuable. When you are good at MBB you join corp very easily. D PPMDs die at D or get heavily downgraded if want to get back to industry

Value equation is a bit different in MBB. It’s around 7-8 years post MBA and you’re probably not doing 13 hour days if you’re strong. And then by your early to mid 30s you’re making 1.5m a year. It’s great financial security and the job gets better as well.

Getting into MBB is a whole different equation too

Advice from PwC fish needed.. I posted a week ago about an offer for an A1 “experienced associate” from PwC -team is digital assurance transparency. Even tho I thought that sounded off, I ended up accepting. My letter just said Associate @ 68k base. Now I have access to People Path & my job level says A2. So is PwC on a cohort model, or not? Is there anything I can do here? I pushed back hard on the A1 vs A2 thing b4 signing and the recruiter was adamant I would be an A1

Started in industry two weeks ago. No timesheets, 40 hour work weeks, and 30% more than what I was making previously. We use all B4 for everything, so it’s just managing their work and budgeting. I feel like I have hit the jackpot. Moral of the post: there is none, I just want to brag about how happy I am now 😂
