What is it like in industry if your role is SEC and SOX? Is that a good path or is it a dead end with Big 4 like hours?

Lots of funds looking for SEC reporting experience. Much better hours (for most) and definitely better pay.

Sec reporting certainly not a dead end

SEC reporting person here - hours during a qtr or year end suck as expected, but huge opportunity for growth and visibility in my company.

It just me and a manager so larger teams may be different but i work weekends and intil 10pm to midnight for a few weeks. There’s usually a handful of 2 am’s each quarter. I am involved in technical accounting and memos but only to the extent I want to be, which is nice.

Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?
