What is it like recruiting into LMM - MM PE from a non top tier IB. It has a growing presence on the street but still doesn’t have the prestige. That said, I should get some pretty solid exposure. I’m in the TMT group which has done a pretty good amount of M&A work historically (however that may change with market conditions the way they are)

Obv harder than coming from EB / BB but it happens all the time. Getting the interview is harder, but once you’re in a process they’ll look at you like anyone else

That’s reassuring, and makes sense regarding landing the interview.

Should be all good as long as you’ve had quality reps and can speak to them.

Is audit experience good to have? I’m an experienced (have almost 10 yrs exp) hire working on accounting advisory and have never been audit. My group got an email saying that there is an opportunity to work on commercial audit for a short term (2-3 months busy season) and ask to join if interested. Is it worth doing? I dont want to stay audit in long run. I wonder if it is worth having the experience.

Hello Accountants,

I have a question. I have enough credits for the CPA exam, but before I realized that I was aiming for a Master in Accounting and got accepted in my school 5 year program for that purpose. Is there any benefit of getting said master? Or should I focus on passing the CPA exam instead? I just finished my first tax internship and everybody said that the CPA was unavoidable but nobody talked about any benefit of getting a master whatsoever.
What do you guys think?

Has anyone pivoted from medical staff services/credentialing into the tech industry/med tech without a college degree? If so, what steps did you take to get there? Having a bit of an existential crisis - but fishbowl hasn’t steered me wrong so far.

I’ve got an offer to study a masters in international affairs (focus in economics) at Columbia SIPA (no financial aid package) or I could stay in management consulting (5-6 ywe) at Oliver Wyman.

I enjoy consulting but it wasn’t what I see myself doing long term. Longer term I saw myself either being an economist or working in the world bank.

Interested in the perspectives of folks in this bowl. Thanks guys

Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!

Is there a standard/typical “deal” for lateral partner compensation at AmLaw 100-200ish firms? I’m hearing one firm offers 25% originations / 25% of working attorney hours (WAC) and another article I read used a similar structure as an example, but wondering what the norm is, or if there is one?

Interviewed by Boeing chennai. Got selected. Sent documents for offer. Initial stage of interview we spoke about budget and agreed. After 3 weeks, so many remainder calls and mails, finally they have responded like budget is problem and we are dropping your candidature. If they are not fine with budget, initial stage itself they could drop. But time wasted.
