What is it like working at  Amazon as a Software Engineer? I've worked at a couple of companies and I just tend to get bored after a while. One was a Fortune 50 non-tech company and the other is a tech startup. Not to sound arrogant, but I consistently outperform most, if not all, engineers I work with. Is it more challenging than other companies? Has anyone else found that working for a big tech firm has been more enjoyable/challenging?

I’m trying to get all my ducks in a row for when I quit here at the end of next month… I am taking a break to figure out what I want to do, so I will be unemployed for a time. Do I have to notify the ARDC of this change (IL licensed)? Do I have to immediately switch to inactive status or can I stay active in case I decide to keep practicing law just a few months later? I'm at a small firm with 2 associates and 1 managing partner. The partner fired our 1 paralegal and now puts a lot of paralegal work on me. I'm the first female attorney this firm has had in over 30 years. I'm not allowed to bill for the paralegal work and already have to meet 40 billables/wk. The other associate is a man but has the exact same credentials/experience as me, but gets more cases/high stakes cases and is never asked to do paralegal work. Am I delusional to think my boss is sexist?

working as a network tech for an ISP for a year now, no prior tech exp but prior professional/management exp. Goal: coding exp by eoy yr2

I applied for and was offered a IT team position at a resort which pays 20% more and involves more diverse skills, networking, some sysadmin, potential .net development exp and scripting.

Current employer offers 21% raise and 30% coding duties. Dept head cannot give it in writing... coding is as helper to a consultant.
