Im a new starter in FDD as a Senior, qualified and am sitting for CFA L2. I want to make sure I'm doing everything right to maximise my chances of landing a FO role in a PE/Fund or ER/M&A role at an BB/EB.

What will your responsibilities be at the smaller company? I chose a smaller company because I wanted to be a generalist and set myself up for a GC (or deputy GC) role in the future. If you're comfortable being an individual contributor or specialist instead, the larger company can be attractive.

Personal decision. In addition to salary and company reputation, also think about things that are important to you for your long term professional growth. Are advancement or mentoring opportunities better at one company or the other? What’s the volume of work flow, law department structure, level of responsibility for your clients, variety of projects you get to work on, and complexity of legal issues that you face?
I think it depends on how big the TC gap is. What's your TC now and what would the expected TC be in tech?
