Holy moly this is expensive! Never had any coloring before and don’t think I will now, haha
Yes, blonde is very high maintenance, and you have to stick to a schedule. I often miss touch-ups during busy weeks and end up with roots at the worst time when I have major presentations, etc. It's something you really have to commit to.
Balayage is way more friendly on the grow out than traditional color or highlights. It’s hand painted and a good stylist will make an imperceptible blend towards the top so as it grows out there’s no harsh line. It’s a really “lived in” color look. I pay $350+ tip in DC
Salon Cielo in DuPont Circle with James.
$150 to $185 Minneapolis
Same in Detroit
Chicago - $345 every 6-8 weeks
350 in chicago in bucktown
I pay $145 for all over color in Ravenswood (Chicago )
Yea, I’ve been dying my hair myself since I was a teen and everyone thinks it’s my natural blonde color. I think it’s crazy when my hair dye isn’t on sale and they want me to pay $12 for a box. I can’t imagine paying hundreds of dollars every 4-6 weeks.
Clairol nice n easy usually. Sometimes L’Oréal Paris. Stay away from Revon it sucks!
In SF at a good (but not highest end) salon it’s about $300-350
I paid 220 in Chicago! https://m.yelp.com/biz/hair-by-melissa-lafollette-chicago
just submitted for a quote, thanks for the recommendation!!
Salon V in Lincoln park - full highlights are $200-250 plus tip.
Also FYI- balayage is usually way more expensive than highlights or full color because the stylist hand paints strands of hair really deliberately to make it blend with your natural color
I agree completely! I’ve had balayage done and love the look. I just mentioned it because I read the OP as though she assumed it would cost less than highlights or full color
Feeling great about my Madison Reed mail order hair dye at $20/month
Yea!! I get my hair done once a year. Maybe ill go for twice next year..... Unbelieveable how expensive it is.
$200-$250 including tip in Philadelphia

Where are you located, OP? Makes a big difference.

Houston - $400 for full highlights, deep conditioning treatment, trim, and blowout with tip
For cut, bayalage, and styling, I paid $450 in Los Angeles, I do it every 5 months.
