What is RTO for most of y’all like? Currently 2 days a week back into the office but I’m hearing the big banks are pushing for 3 days now.

Honestly, I’m not comfortable coming into NYC more than 2 days a week. It’s not Covid related, just a work life balance thing.

I’d rather not sit on a bus for an hour each way to run into Manhattan so I can be in the office . I enjoy being home and working from the peaceful suburbs and not have to deal with the rat race, not to mention the savings .

What are some tips to tell someone (a close friend) that you don’t feel comfortable visiting them in COVID? Had plans to go to Nashville for a while, but hearing stories about indoor bars / no masks, etc. and would rather wait. Friend tends to get very slighted easily, but she’s a long-time friend.

I’m truly sick of the unfounded skepticism of the vaccines. Sadly, the demand for the vax is going to dwindle to nothing. It’s estimated that Indiana won’t breach 40% of the population vaccinated this year. I keep getting told, “covid isn’t real, enjoy perpetual fake booster shots, etc.” At some point, I think you have to open everything back up and let Darwin run it’s course. After there’s been ample time for those to get it who truly want it and at least have some protection.

I was a campus hire, coming up on one year at the firm. We got pay cuts before starting due to covid. I know everyone here is saying keep low expectations for raises, but what would you say is too low that would push you over the edge? Not to be taken the wrong way- COVID19 is a terrible disease and I feel for the people who lost loved ones from it (as I did)- but I’m happy to see it led firms to acquiesce and listen to what their employees want instead of continually forcing us to go through the same old music because that’s what they did 20 years ago.

With pay adjustments, remote opportunities, various bennies, and general empowerment to the employees, I’m so far happy with the changes it brought to the industry.
