@ KMPG PPL. I just accepted an offer to start in Nov. is there a date to go back in the office? And once everyone is back is wfh still going to be a thing partially? Wondering if I should invest in a desk and a good chair.
How was work from home in Deloitte before covid?
Has anybody maintained 2 separate work from home jobs? Or know someone who has? I feel like this is an easier way to make sm/director level money ...
Anyone understand how the DTAA come into play with working remote from India for an extended period of time? I believe you cannot work for more than <> no. of days without triggering a corporate tax obligation due to ‘permanent establishment exposure’. Trying to fill in how many days that is AND whether this applies in reality or not.
And I was offered by EY GDS to be a Technology Consultant. How's life there? Is work-life balance real? How about permanent remote work?
Actually am getting pretty comfortable with this WFH arrangement. dont wanna jinx it 😬😬😬
Does IBM GBS provide reimbursement for WFH setup ? I heard there will be 45k balance per employee where we can claim broadband and other expenses through bond portal. Can anyone throw some light on this if you have any idea ?
Guidehouse folks! What perks do you have, i.e. coffee and meals expensed, Uber/Lyfts expensed, flexible/remote work?
I know we all love the work from home (or do we?) but does anyone actually miss traveling for their consulting engagements and all the fun that goes along with it? The late nights at the office then the bar and random hookups and excitement and all that? Sure it’s a grind but I think I actually miss it too. Maybe I just miss seeing people at work or seeing people at all. I wonder if we’ll ever get back to that.

Any recs for a semi-affordable, last minute get away? I’m still 100% remote, I’m burned out & I need a change of scenery for a few days. I’d plan to go for a long weekend & then work remotely for part & take part completely off.
All Anybody has any idea how good @Epsilon as a company is? I got an offer, role is "Principal .NET/CMS Developer” for 12.5 years’ experience. Job location is USA (remote job) Thanks in advance.
Accepted a job for a perm remote position and celebrated by going shopping for work clothes aka loungewear comfort clothes.
Which major companies are open to 100% remote? I don’t want to leave Philly but want to go in house
Would PwC cover my orthodontic visits? Do they give new joiners a monitor/ desk/ useful goodies to work from home? What about WiFi costs?
I want to join a non-profit board (remote, voluntary etc.) and doing my groundwork, does anybody got references or recommendations on how to approach or succeed? Looking to connect and discuss with someone who’s gone through this journey..
Has anyone been unjustly rejected by their children due to encouragement by other parent/grandparents/other? It happens usually during separation and divorce but could happen within a marriage. In many extreme cases, the child is prevented from a relationship with a parent due to a being blocked physically and emotionally. I'm currently in a toxic marriage where spouse and MIL badmouth me (among other things) to my 5 yo son to the point where he rejects, badmouths, and even bullies me.
Any suggestions for virtual happy hour - scotch, wine, cocktail, mocktail tasting (vendors, logistics, rough pricing etc.)? Location: US, Canada
What does your title structure look like? Has anyone move to “Head of…” vs “Director of…” or VP of …”? Looking for pros and cons mostly
Do any of you work at Olive? What has your experience been like? I’m currently interviewing and would love to hear more about what interviews were like for you.
Have a client that constantly sends tons of emails after 10 pm, even on weekends. How do you get a client to temper this?
Hi 🐠, need some advice. Was told by my manager that time doing research (for info related to my client) is not client billable and has to be charged to the overhead code. This strikes me as fundamentally wrong, esp bc this is a flat rate project so the hours will just affect my utilization / internal metrics, not how much the client is billed. I asked for a non-billable code that counts towards utilization but was told my utilization is fine even though I’d be billing <40hrs & to use OH code
I need help asking for help - more specifically identifying what exactly others can help with. There are extenuating circumstances in most cases but I’ve had coworkers out in bereavement, project scopes increasing, and my own capacities are shrinking with burnout - I can’t focus, misreading/misinterpreting, I’m spacing on finding documents/notes, and overall inefficient between calls with the volumes of emails. Friends & manager tell me I’m being too hard on myself, but work is only piling on
I've gotten lazy this week. How do yall get back on the path and get motivated to get it done?
Another final round interview today that I thought went really well. Time to constantly check my phone and email and not get any work done / get my hopes up...
Uber is offering $90k base for 2 YOE in a business analyst role. Does this seem low? Idk why anyone would take that coming out of consulting, other than for the brand name on the resume
Is it worth it to get a travel car seat if you’re flying to a destination where you will then be driving? Kid will be 2, hoping to fly to see family later in the year. We have a big graco car seat we can take with us but I don’t know if it’s going to be a hassle or not.
Not nearly enough messages. Was a senior when I had a kid...so nice of KPMG to NOT tell me the way to properly submit for parental leave back in the day.
Are folks getting RFE on H1 transfer to Big4? My question is specifically because initially your office location is the only one mentioned coz you don’t know what client you will be assigned?
In need of advice. Have offer (180k) for VP project manager role (Implementation Leader). It’s a PMO role so I have big concerns about career impact and exit ops. Feeling burnt out from consulting.
What's everyone hoping to get for Christmas? I got my present early: five months of billable work to start off 2016.
What are you passionate about? Any tips on how to reflect on that? I feel like I’m spiraling into an identity crisis trying to think of my “story.” My work experience isn’t in any particular industry, and my personal life feels standard to millennials - food, travel, outdoor activities, art/culture
