I recently was offered a Recruiting position at Deloitte - I’m super excited about it and they offered me in the mid 80k range which is significantly more than what I’m making now- does that sound like a fair salary? For reference I’m in the Texas area and my current role is with another Big 4 making roughly 30k less so it’s a big jump and seems like the right direction with lots of positivity.

Anyone in big 4 who’s looking at new jobs in industry, do you feel like the salary increases have leveled out now that firms are throwing money at us? With all the mid year raises and stuff like that we’ve gotten from my firm, some of the positions I’m looking at/interviewing for are giving like less than 5% increase from where I’m at now. For context I’ve been communicating mainly with mostly large public companies.
HELP! I just got a BCG consultant offer. PwC paid for my MBA. I still need to work here for 3 more years before not owing any of it back (currently would have to pay 100% of it if I left). Is the move worth it? Or should I maybe push to move to Strategy& (internal move) instead of BCG?

No weird flexes. What’s your emergency savings (no stocks pls) and how many months is it designed to cover? Bonus: what’s your current salary.
Tell me if I’m missing something here. In consulting, you sign up to work yourself to the bone for 15ish years at well below market pay for the chance of making partner where you will still be somewhat below market for another 10 years working yourself to the bone for the chance at maybe being a senior partner for 10 years making decent money while still working insane hours all while paying for your boss’s salary and pension and their retired boss’s pension. What about this is appealing again?
Recently inherited ~$5m and finding it very hard to focus on my career. Seems like anything I save is pennies - any ideas on staying motivated?

I’m a proud first-gen immigrant college graduate in my family but I hate the fact that I can’t save as much money as my peers or ppl I see post on here because I hold all the financial responsibilities and take care of a lot of people in my family. My salaries $73k and that’s a lot to them 😩 But I also owe $40k in student loans I have to pay back for my undergrad/graduate degrees. Anyone else in this situation? I love my family and I’m happy to help financially but it’s stressful sometimes 🥲
