I switched two years ago from regional real estate/energy to a local small, but established residential real estate practice. While I’ve gained so much practical experience and run my own book here, I want to shift to a non-traditional remote role in real estate but keep getting turned down. I have strong credentials but I’m worried this small firm experience is killing my marketability to large companies.
Would really love to get out of healthcare and into the WFH life, I’ve applied to multiple positions and keep getting “while your resume is impressive…” i have 5+ years banking experience which is what one trying to go back to but I didn’t finish my college degree so I’m sure that doesn’t help. Any suggestions?
Anyone here at Luxoft with permanent remote ? I got an offer. Will they ask to come to office at any point ? What about job security at Luxoft ? HR mentioned 8 hours per day and no need to enter timesheet, time will be auto captured. That means like we can't be away from the system at all ? Please help.
Does anyone need a hr coordinator, or entry level talent acquisitions coordinator that is 100 remote? Remote jobs are extremely competitive and when I find job posts on LinkedIn there are already over 100 applicants. Very competitive!I am open minded about salary,I have so much interest in expanding my skills. I have about a year of recruiting in the staffing industry and 6 months as an hr assistant for a corporate/manufacturing company. MA in Hr and will be testing for phr in July. Thank you

Hi ..I’ve got an offer in Infosys as consultant in infrastructure management. May i know if WFH is there and what will be the job roles ?
If anyone can help.
Heyy does anyone have any tips for an entry level media planner? I graduated last year and landed a FT offer at an agency. I’ve been working from home for almost a month now and honestly it has its pros and cons. Not only is it harder getting to know your team, but there haven’t been much guidance from my manager and the lingo takes some time to get use to. I guess I just want to learn as much as possible and give off good impressions. Since everything is wfh I’ve been feeling anxious. Thanks!
If there are any current students or recent grads open to doing a Fall internship, Havas Mango is looking for someone! Heads up: there are some additional application questions: Creator Intern https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/2023829663
Help please! College daughter signed lease at her sorority house. School went remote so she’s never moved in. Sorority is threatening to give her an eviction notice which I assume would end up on her credit record... Any ideas how to fight this? The only reason she didn’t move in was due to Covid and school closing dorms... We got an abatement from the dorms last semester. Any ideas?
I’ve been at my current job less than 6 months and I’m really struggling with wfh. I’m having a hard time finding assignments despite having a sizable caseload. Cont...
I need a referral for a open position at @IBM. I have the job ID. Please let me know if you can help me out.
Thanks in advance.
People on OPT/STEM OPT, if you renew your passport, do you just inform your school or do we need to do anything CBP to get our I-94 information updated. It says 'record not found' when I type in my new passport. Thank you!
Is 85k a reasonable salary to ask for as a mid level (3.5 yrs) copywriter in LA? Or too much?
I am an international student looking for a full time data analyst position. Can someone provide me some referrals.
Hi everyone! Are there any Expedia Software Engineer II folks in the chat that wouldn’t mind talking with me a bit about their interview process and experience?
Have you cried at work? How often?
I currently make over 180k base salary as a single filer with no large purchases planned and 12 months of expenses saved.
Should/Can I do a mega backdoor AND backdoor Roth? Or do you have to choose one or the other?
I'm currently on Fidelity for my retirement plans.
US vs Canada Which country do you think is better for work and family.. I have offers from both the places and my head is blocked deciding between the two. Please provide your views.. 🙏
Your one single line of wisdom can really help me in choosing between the two.
I am membership director for a medical based fitness facility on the west side. We offer corporate partnerships. I would love to network with companies in Indianapolis!
That’s unexpected lol
Any performance engineers here?
Just wanted to know what exactly is performance engineering(other than something which is already available on the Internet).
What is the day to day activity of a Performance Engineer?
Also, does Performance Engineering means testing?
Many Thanks in Advance!
Does ANYONE feel like they've gotten to know their students better this year ( while teaching remotely or hybrid) than in-person? If so, WHAT'S YOUR SECRET????
I joined Cognizant couple of weeks back & mapped to a project. what happens if you don’t clear the client interview? Will they fire or you go to central pool for other projects ?
An advice on how to approach the application and how to land an interview with an MBB firm? I am at Accenture but want to engage myself in “pure” strategy work.
How is dating in Jax? Apps seem to suck. 26M here trying to date or just to make new friends
Does anyone know where I can obtain a commercial lines only and workers comp only license? I am licensed in life, accident and health currently and I work in group benefits. I would like to add the commercial lines and or Worker’s Comp. to my repertoire, and I do not wish to take the P&C licensing test.
Huge win for Omnicom.
Additional Posts in Big Law
Every year I end up owing about $12-15k in federal taxes. (Plus an underpayment penalty). If you’re a single senior associate with no dependents, have you figured out a way to not under withhold? I.e. number of exemptions, extra withholdings each paycheck.
Does anyone feel like based on their practice area they could likely never work at a midsize firm later on and their options are mostly big law or in house? I feel like certain areas just don’t exist at midsize firms (eg, cap markets, bankruptcy, etc)
I need thoughts and opinions on leaving a firm I just started at 3 months ago. It hasn’t been the worst experience but also hasn’t been the best. I was made to believe I would be practicing a lot in labor and employment (which is what I wanted to be doing) and I’m actually mostly doing general commercial litigation. I want to be doing L&E but I’m afraid of what it will look like to my current employer (and the people who have been kind to me there) to jump ship so soon. Thoughts?
Is it strange that anyone at my firm (associates/partners) can look up where any lawyer is on billable time for the month? I’m a third year lateral, and my old firm didn’t do that. Is that normal? Feels invasive
Anyone else have to do mandatory “non-billable” hours? I just lateraled and this is blowing my mind. The ramp up has also been slow. Any tips?
Curious if anyone would be willing to share their stories of being laid off/pushed out/ fired? My main goal this year is to not be so scared of having one of these things happen to me so I can set firm boundaries and not be the most anxious person on earth.
Does anyone else fear they are shockingly not one of those “attention to detail” people and that will cause their downfall in this profession?
Need help from the Hivemind. I am a rising 4th year who has only been at my firm for a little over a year (after a few clerkships). I like my firm well enough, and the partners I work with like me a lot, but I’ve learned that Biglaw is not the life for me and want to get out ASAP. I’m applying to a Fed agency that I’m really excited about, but the application requires a reference from your current supervisor. I haven’t told the firm I’m thinking about leaving. How would you handle this?
Moving from insurance defense to an AM100 firm and their onboarding requires a background check. Anyone know (1) does this usually go into credit; and (2) is bad credit something that would cause the offer to get pulled?
My credit is horrible (bad decisions in my youth I’m still paying for. No bankruptcies and it didn’t impact my bar application).
What kind of non-big law options are available for PE associate? If they go in house, do they go to general corporate positions and more tailored jobs (M&A division)?
Thoughts on Day Pitney’s trusts and estates/individual clients practice, and/or the firm generally? Thinking about a transition from a benefits/comp practice and interested in relocating to CT. Any info on compensation, lifestyle/hours, culture, WFH policy, etc. appreciated!
I find my job really boring and don’t actually care if my clients get the result they want. I just do good enough work because I’m afraid of being seen as dumb. Is there any way you’ve been able to make work more enjoyable/interesting or should I just go back to school in a diff field? I’ve already tried both litigation and corporate.
Thoughts/experiences on alimony?
Partners, do you ever feel bad when you’ve snapped at someone for something, only to eventually realize you had it wrong?
Partner has been sitting on something for two weeks (I’ve followed up twice) and I just know she’s going to get back to me over the weekend, while we are celebrating Christmas with my husband’s family, and want an immediate turnaround.
I can’t wait to get out of biglaw.
Relatively new first year M&A associate. Is it normal for every weekend to be ruined in this practice area?
Ever since the Milbank salary raise I’ve seen more folks on here either sticking it out in big law for longer or wanting to move from their in house gigs back to big law. I guess the money is working!
Partners: how many hours, including billable hours, do you need to work for a year? More than associates’ hours, or less, or about the same?

I always thought employees were locked in a basement for 23 hours a day and allowed 30 minutes of rec time and 30 minutes of meal time.
NY office is now 3 days per week in person
Yes, but may vary group by group
Recently went back to “hybrid” 3 days in/2 days WFH. I maybe go in for like 10 hours a week max and haven’t had any problems. I’m mainly working cross-office now so my teams don’t care where I’m at anyway.
