I’m gay

I'm bi. No one knows as well. People just assume I'm straight.

I lost my father and my sister 3- and 5- years ago. I do the same for both. I try to be open about it when I can.

P5, don't try to act hard. It makes the world a worse place. If you know how to be kind and gentle, stick with that.

People will do good work for you if you treat them well.

I’m an orphan and grew up with several abusive families. Ended up going to an ivy and working at Deloitte. No one has any idea.

Wow, this is amazing OP! Good on you!

I’m not straight and single but in a long term relationship with another woman

It’s only a big deal if you want it to be. You deserve to be yourself and be happy. I’ve found most people really don’t care as much as we think. Also, now you’ll have something relatable to chat/bond over with other colleagues in long-term relationships.

It is what we make it. A simple: actually I’ve been with my best friend and partner for some time now, just didn’t know how to say it. Might do the trick. People will take your lead and move on from it if you move on, in my experience.

I bang strippers in most cities that I travel to clients for. I don’t pay them to sleep with me, but I still feel I have a problem that needs to be addressed

Not too uncommon in tech consulting. Pretty rare in strategy, with the exception of strong experience in very niche areas.

Years ago, my team was going to a team dinner but I said I wanted to Skype with my girlfriend and son as it was his first birthday. Director said to take the rest of the night off. I don’t have a kid, but since then I’ve made up getting married, and another kid to get out of other work events

In the Army, I had 53 Soldiers in my platoon. Our mission in Iraq was convoy security at night so we were sitting ducks. I was/am responsible for several deaths (insurgent and accidental civilian) and did not anticipate coming home alive. I couldn't protect all of my Soldiers but they did technically all come home alive. A dear friend was killed in Afghanistan doing the same job 10 months after I got home. The war is with me every moment of every day and it's been over 10 years.

Unfortunately there isn't much for spouses in consulting, but if you can say what industry or company (PM is cool) your SO is in/at I may be able to help. There are community based groups too.

I'm bisexual and a Domme. In relationships, I've historically been monogamous but more often than not I'm single and I take on lovers (submissive and not) in cities where I'm staffed (which means I seek out hotels where other team members don't go). I'm always transparent about intentions with the people I have flings with. Also, I'm very open and honest with those close to me in my personal life about my proclivities, but everyone at work probably just think I'm a hard working middle aged single-woman who can't get a date. I'm actually turning down dates otherwise I'd never make deadlines!

Acn31, I am in a very similar situation and you have given a lot of great advice on how to present my profile and handle encounters. It doesn't always work out but I find when I don't force things, you find some really amazing people and fulfilling experiences. Best of luck to you!

When I was 21, I came out as lesbian. I knew at 13 that I was attracted to other girl, but I also liked boys. By 19, I went to seek help from a psychologist who suggested that any feelings that I had for guys was out of social expectations and that my strong attraction to women made me a clear cut lesbian. I lived as a lesbian for 6 years, always feeling like an imposter. It was my girlfriend at the time who helped me realise that I was bi and that this was ok. It took me a while to be ok with it. I've since found out that many bi people have experienced something similar: being pushed into making a choice.

Twenty years later, I've been living my life openly bi with my friends and family, but the few times I brought it up in past jobs, it's gotten me all kinds of attention that I didn't want.

My total experience is around 7+ years and am currently working in a MNC from the past 4 years. I was planning to make a switch to some other company but recently my manager has mentioned to me in person and as well as on my appraisal feedback (in writing) that I will be nominated for the H1B visa in the coming cycle. This was in July 2022. Should I be worried that it won't happen or should I start looking for the switch.?
