50% Match up to IRS Limit. Match is paid out per paycheck and vests immediately from Day 1.

I know a few people that put 75% of their paycheck in January to get the match then leave in February when switching firms given no vesting period.

6% dollar for dollar

like

LinkedIn does 50% match upto IRS limit and vests immediately. I could believe this when I first heard it.

like

Google does the same

3% on first 5% invested from your paycheck - a UK boutique fwiw

Zero lol

Please expand. Is it 0% and a fixed amount? Or just no match at all?

6%

From senior consultant and above 5% match plus free 1% but vests once a year on Dec 31. Not available for entry level positions (band 6).

10%, vesting is prorated over 5 years

0 now was 3%

Certainly not much to brag about🥺

Up to 3% match. Fully vested.

3.25% on 6.5% + ESOP

100% match up to 6%

Why not say 6% match? Is there more to it than meets the eye?

A few years ago, firm I left did 150% match up to 6% of salary (a/k/a 9% match if you put 6% in). Vested after 3 years.

They had discretionary up to 5% profit share on top of that the whole time. We always hit 11-12% employer contribution (7+ year period).

Equity

100% match up to 6 %

$1000 - Large stock discount and RSU’s though.

It’s TERRIBLE at Slalom.

3% no matter what, 50% match for the first 6.5% I believe

4%

previous company I worked for was around 70% contribution on full 401k annual limit. No limits.. Cant remember the vesting schedule though, if ever there was one

Poor, clueless 23 year old here. Any tips on how to balance retirement savings with short-to-medium term savings goals? (Wedding, MBA, car, down payment).

I currently max out my Roth IRA, but don’t max out my 401k. If I did i would have nothing left for liquid savings. Any tips?

Always been a fan of FIRE and reading about it has definitely helped my finances but I can’t help but wonder if the movement is more about lifestyle change than early retirement.

After you achieve FI,you basically have to maintain the lifestyle that got you there.

What if you want to go on a lavish vacation or buy that flatscreen TV? Are you supposed to do away with material goods entirely? I suppose you could keep working for discretionary $ and live off interest but then you’re not retired.
