I got a offer from Accenture Technology, not a big raise in Pay but I would really love to take the opportunity. But I’m scared about upcoming recession, how did they handled this the last times? I don’t want to throw a safe job away if the risk is to high…the offer is to start in 11/2022. Would you do it? Or would you stay in the safe positions and wait?Accenture

I was promoted to Senior a year ago, but have been acting as a Manager for 8 of those 12 months (independent projects). I have been told I will have to wait for a minimum of 1 year till possible M promotion. Feeling a bit dejected tbh and just want to get opinions on best way to go forward.

Please help, I’m currently working for a startup that was unable to raise its Series B and has started downsizing its staff. I’ve been here only 3 months and I’m afraid the company doesn’t have enough runway considering the macro environment. I want to jump ship but I’m afraid I may be seen as a job hopper, context below: Job 1: 1 year Job 2: 5 months (received an admit from my Target school) Job 3: 1 year, 10 months Job 4 (current): 3 months The news of layoffs is scaring me.

Was just told I’ll be making just over 200k TC at EOY promotion. Position has a lot of upward mobility potential in coming years. I’ve been here a few years with consistent high ratings. However, I’m concerned I may not be learning as much as I could. Plus, I may find similar or higher pay elsewhere. Any tips for evaluating? I’ll be 27 at promo.

I had a company reach out to me for an interview and they have offered me a position. After my last interview with them though, I don’t feel that it is a good fit. That said, they would be able to offer me a good raise. Is there any way I can leverage this with EY or no? I don’t want to come across as unprofessional but basically the raise would be for helping take care of a sick family member. Also, I promise that’s not a sob story that’s my reason for even taking the interview. TIA

Need Suggestion: I have 8+ years of experience between two b4. Been with EY for the first 5+ years and now with PwC for another 3. I am currently working as a Senior Manager for the firm and tempted to make a move to another B4 in next couple of months. Do you think it will be a wise decision to make the move if we leave $ out of the equation? I was recently promoted to SM, so promotion to D might take 2-3 years at PwC.

Left consulting for internal strategy. Considering a return to consulting given the huge boost in consulting compensation (~30% raise on what I’m at now) in recent months and just not seeing much improvement from the consulting lifestyle. What are people’s thoughts on beginning a new job though given the talk of stagflation and impending recession?

I’m on a project and tasks that are billable on other clients are routed to non-billable admin code on this project, so now I’m up to 60 hours vs. the base 50 hours per week. The “admin” still has to get done. I’m experienced now to know these guys are breaking protocol by undercharging significantly and I don’t want to work for the additional 120 hours over the course of the next 3 months that I would get credit for on other projects. To who should I raise this issue?

I’m new to consulting, going on 6 months. Ive essentially been in an apprenticeship program & my base salary is currently 60k. I pretty much got paid to learn so I’m very appreciative. My first promotion is coming but I’m not sure it’ll be significant. Im hoping to be at 80-100k+ in the next two years but we’ll see. What discussions, roles, or companies should I be looking at to break 100k annually soon?

Is it worth staying at my current company if I’m not excited for the next promotion/general career progression? I’ve been with my firm since I graduated 5 years ago, am generally a high performer, early promote, involved internally, etc. but I feel like I could be learning and earning more elsewhere. I love my coworkers and company so I’m struggling with determining if I’m just bored or if jumping ship is the move.

Would you take this offer? Base: $130k Sign on: $10k Bonus: apparently 15% (~$19.5k) PTO & Sick Days: 15 and 12 Currently at: Base: $112.4k Bonus: 3-6% (lol) PTO: 21 days Context: A little over 2 YOE; I was promoted to Consultant last November, so likely won’t see a promotion for another 2 years at ACN. I would be jumping to a smaller consulting company =<200 people and chances for traveling Mon - Thurs is higher at this smaller company. Will be in Texas.

Thoughts on taking a temporary internal rotational? You can keep salary and promotion timeline, then back to the consulting side afterwards. Overall, seems the opportunity would help accelerate long-term career with the firm.

I just accepted an offer at another big4 and I feel so blessed to be making $130k in LOCL as a 23 year old with less than 1.25 YOE. And I find it funny that I'm gonna be "senior" consultant/associate at my age and YOE. I don't know jack shit, and will completely understand if my clients/senior peers don't give me any respect at all. Thank you covid and the great resignation for this wonderous and hilarious opportunity.
