They say marriage is 50:50, but it rarely ever is. Sometimes it's 30:70, sometimes 90:10. In the long run it should even out ideally if you are both actively striving to have a good marriage. Don't keep score. Just focus on doing what's best for the two of you. Also. You are our child and always welcome in our house, but now that you are married to a good person, you are always welcome with him/her. Not without (of course I am). Whatever the issue is, you need to focus on fixing it and learning to understand each other, not running away. I want you both here, together and happy. So true. Thanks mom. 😘

The person who’s good at something is going to be behind the person who works hard at it. The person who works hard is always going to be behind the person who loves what they’re doing. Do what makes you happy. (It sounds better in our native language but the gist is that passion > effort > ability)

I love this and it makes perfect sense! I’m going to copy & paste this saying a lot. Thanks for sharing, BC1!

“People Die” My Dad is a very happy guy, immigrant to the US, successful career in medicine. So a bit out of character. I was moving cross country and had stopped at my parent’s house. They gave me a piece of art that I had always admired. As I was picking it up I accidentally smacked it and cracked the glass. I apologized and said how sorry I was that I had damaged the gift. No worries G, they said. I apologized again but wasn’t too upset or anything. No worries G. They said again. One more expression of remorse on my part and... Dad says “ G, People Die. Right now someone is in the hospital mourning the loss of a loved one and you are upset about a piece of art?!? People Die” Put everything in perspective would be the more mellow way of telling the tale. G

Forgiveness is to swallow when you want to spit

Can you elaborate on what this message meant to you? For me, understanding the importance of forgiveness (and the huge benefits to the forgiver) was a really big part of my life. Forgiveness is a gift to everyone involved.

Follow through on your commitments always. Thats served me pretty well in work and marriage

It’s not what you make that counts, but rather how much you spend compared to what you make that matters. Never spend more than you make.

Got a job offer at Deloitte for manager level. Looking for a summary of benefits. I know 401k match but is there a waiting period, do you have something like pwc’s wealth builder. What is parental leave? What is the phone benefit? (Pwc subsidizes phone and pays plan). Health insurance I assume is crap but who is it through? Any random benefits that stick out to you that other firms might not have?

Expecting a baby this summer. Should I still be looking for other job opportunities? Hi all! I’m doing some research on parental leave policies to make a case to improve ours. How many weeks does your policy offer? Does it differ between “primary” and “secondary” caregiver? Birth vs other means of growing your family? I’m particularly interested in independent shops, but would love to hear from folks at the network agencies as well. It you could comment with your agency name, I’d be super grateful. Thank you thank you! ❤️

I’ve been working 12 hours a day minimum since I was 11 years old .. so now 12 hour days feel like play for me. Also put me infront of a screen for 24 hours and I won’t move until I need to go to sleep . I have been like that since I was a kid so now it’s in my blood. I never felt I was working. I’m always curious and my mind goes 1000 miles an hour . What about you? Do you feel it’s work and CBF after 8 hours? Or you feel it’s your hood and you can’t have enough of it?
