What is the best form of exercise in terms of health and fitness and convenience? I've heard swimming, rowing, running and biking are the best. Each has pros and cons

I have an Exercycle. Pros: can use late nights, can watch tv, can flashcard Becker questions on my iPad. Cons: it's an excercycle. 🙄

Cycling is awesome, but don't ask what we've spent on bikes. 🤑

HIIT High intensity interval Training It's tough. Shorter workouts but with less rest. it's the best fat burner and quickest too.. Try Insanity Max 30. All the workouts are 30 minutes and they will leave you dead.

Yeah it seems running is hard on joints and bones. Swimming, is supposed to be the best, but inconvenient / expensive. Is biking all body or just lower body. Rowing is all body and low impact. Sleek machine. Seems best

I love swimming laps. I think the best exercise is a routine that you enjoy (assuming you get your heart rate up and don't abuse your body the crossfit way).

Running is actually bad on your body tgough

The best is walking at a steep incline the the treadmill. You burn twice as many calories per minute as what everyone else mentioned. The steeper the incline and the faster you walk/run the more calories burned. I usually do 20 minutes at 4mph 12-15% grade and rotate between a swift walk and a slow jog. This will burn 300-400 calories.

Love swimming but yeah not very convenient

Rowing.

Nothing can beat running done at a fast pace

Still a big fan of Zumba. I know it's been around a while and not flashy new but I enjoy it. Doesn't make me think I'm working out while I'm doing it (certainly know about it afterwards though 😁).

Cycling is all body. Legs obviously, but you use all you core muscles and arms maintaining proper position.

like

^PwC4 and if you make sure the treadmill has iFit you can link to google maps and visualize being in a different location (mountain jogging, Central Park, etc.). It's pretty good so long as your wifi connection is constant.

Swimming is the best workout you can do for your body. It uses the most amount of muscles and it is entirely based off resistance. But like with anything, you can only get out of it what you put into it

like

U guys r nuts. You can literally open your front door and go for a run for free, any time. Definitely most convenient and cost effective

Running kills my knees. :/

Swimming is best long term. Works the most muscles while doing cardio and easiest on joints. That being said, if you didn't do it on some sort of a team in school, it's hard to learn later in life.

Yeah I can't swim or run long distances and can't learn to any more. I love biking, and since it is an all body workout, I would like it, but you are at the mercy of the daylight and weather, like running, if not on a machine indoors. I didn't know incline walking was so good. Thanks for that. Looking for cardio, tone and major calorie burn to offset the spare tire from beer, etc

Okay, taking a big step here. I’m 28F and have spent most of my 20s traveling to every continent and generally prioritizing experiences. Just bought a condo in a MCOL city. Single, unmarried, no children. I’m looking for a temperature check on how I’m doing currently and what I can do better. I’m not really investing and would like to start. I’m a bit overwhelmed with financial literature and didn’t have much guidance growing up. Need particular help with last row under savings. Thank you!
