What is the best time of year to switch to big 4 for IT audit? Once we have a vaccine and can travel again, I would like to try to switch. I just wasn't sure when the best time of year would be to apply though.

I'm guessing you're currently in IT audit at GT? I think around fall, so they can train you in preparation for the following busy season (but IT audit is pretty busy all year anyways lol).

I will say that right now, KPMG is very understaffed in IT audit and is actually looking to pull in unassigned resources from other service lines. Check if any big 4 are hiring in your area now, worth a shot.

I kinda wanted to wait until I could be with coworkers and clients in person. I feel like it would make the onboarding and transition process easier. But it is good to know that there are some opportunities now if I change my mind!

Generally fall is the busy season for IT Audit, although this year it's difficult because of COVID19. Probably best time to switch is next summer if things go back to normal.

Wait til after busy season. Which
Could be somewhere between October-January depending on the client

As a GT ITAS Sr. I feel this on a deep levels. We were close to 25% understaffed going in to March of this year and don't think we made any headway in hiring more.

I was reading a blurb from Lookzy which said that Wachtell, Milbank, Weil, Covington, Skadden and Freshfields are all involved in a recent M&A deal. As a new litigator, how common is it for this many law firms to be involved in a deal like this (recognizing that it’s a big deal)? Are all of these law firms involved with the negotiation of the deal/agreements? Sounds like a logistical nightmare and extremely expensive for clients. Is this deal an outlier?

Just transferred from IT Audit to Strategy and Transactions. Been a goal of mine for a while so I’m happy to see it play out. Not posting just to say I did it, but because I’ve been following this bowl for a while and see people get negative about being pigeon holed. There were tons of transferable skills that I was able to highlight that got a role that’s completely different, so I just don’t want anyone feeling discouraged if they’re hitting walls.
