What is the best way to request a week of remote work? 2 managers and myself in workstream, one rolls off end of this week...could use a week at home, burning out from this travel

Just ask.

Timing sounds pretty poor. Ask at a better time when it actually makes sense

Don't lie. Work with them to come up with a time that works.

@OP, seems like you are talking yourself out of it.

Agree with D2. And, I think it's pretty to see through your lie considering your request to work remotely was just denied. If you don't care enough, do whatever makes you happy.

like

Lying is a terrible idea. You made a poorly timed request and it was understandably denied. Follow-up that denial for an alternate time that doesn't screw over your client and colleagues

like

I did last week (for this week) and was denied because "one of the managers is leaving"

Yeah, ask. You should know whether the request is reasonable or not given your project's current status and the work you're doing

Tell them you have doctors appointments that you can't miss or reschedule

Yes @D1 timing is TERRIBLE. And @ACN1 may have to do that....i usually prefer the honest way, but it seems i have no choice

Agree with D1. Don't lie. Ask them to meet to plan a WFH schedule that works for everyone. Maybe it's every 6 weeks or once a month, but it should be feasible on most projects

If you have a negative balance on your credit card (overpay every month) and use it until you go back to zero, do you still earn points/ cash rewards on your usage. Context: I am trying to see if I can essentially use my credit card as a debit card but still earn points at the same time.

I spent the last 3 months "growing up" & now I'm ready to go. 1st thing is for me to get my own place. I'd like to buy instead of rent because I don't want to pay someone else's mortgage. I'm thinking of selling my car & cash out some of my 401k to buy a house. My thought is to put down 3.5% for a FHA loan then make a big payment towards the principal to reduce long-term interest. Anything wrong with this thinking or anything else I should consider?
