What is the best way to switch from tech consulting to strategy or management?

Go to a target business school and you’ll stroll into a job. Make sure it has on-campus recruitment (where the firms go to campus to hustle for applicants and conduct part of the interviews on site). Many firms basically fill their quota from the target schools because they invest so much money hunting applicants there. If you have to apply online yourself for a role, the odds are against you.

It’s possible to do it without an MBA. You can network with the group you want to join and start doing some work in their area to justify a transfer. In this case you will need leadership support, and it will likely take a while. You can also target tech related groups (tech strategy, tech M&A, etc) to get your foot in the door and present your work experience relevant to the targeted group. This may require switching firms, which is how I did it.

Any Recruiters out there looking for a HR Manager who actually has experience using HRIS and loves the technology side? I don't have a background in it, but I've had 8 years experience in HR and Payroll processing and know the HRIS we use better than 90% of the staff I call for support. I usually tell them how to do their job. It's just something I'm really passionate about. I think it's important to understand user perspective.

AMZN, AAPL, MSFT, & GOOG are not going anywhere. Cloud computing and data are so big and I see no point in why people invest in other companies as a safety if these 4 giants run the world as we know it. How wrong am I?

I’m currently working with a senior level HR candidate. This individual has a doctorate in business with a focus in HR, her SPHR, Federal, and private sector experience at the singer level, and has a fabulous personality. I’m curious is anyone else having difficulties play some candidates like this? At this point I’m starting to think it’s racial or her sex based of the lack of interest in this candidate. Any thoughts?

Accepted an offer but didn’t tell my current employer yet because I’m still going thought the background check process (international checks normally take longer). I’m getting very close to 2 weeks notice, but still don’t have 100% for the new employer (everything is subject to background check approval) and it makes me nervous. Any advice how to navigate it?

This fall weather got me thinking - someone could come take everything from me. My car, okay job, home, nice tangible things - and drop me off in the middle of Wyoming far from all this - and I would be content living out my days in a little rustic cabin, with a 5’11-6’2, fit, bearded, masculine, versatile guy, with big arms, and a vintage pickup truck, who was good at splitting wood, for me to cuddle and love. That’s all I would need to be happy. ✌🏻 What about anyone else? 🍁🍂🧔🏽‍♂️🌲🏔🏚🛻
