What is the best wedding favor you ever received? I have no idea what to get that isn’t a useless thing people will throw away!

The best favor is being too full/drunk/danced out to remember if you left a tiny gift at my place setting for me to take home.

This is where my fiancé and I are cutting costs to have a better wedding “experience.” They only ones I probably still use are koozies

I’m not doing favors. We’re doing end of the night snacks and that can be the favor

I got a succulent at a wedding once that I liked

like

Got succulents before - they are dying now
Got chocolate - but forgot to bring them home
Got coasters - sitting in my cupboard collecting dusts
Got bar soap - this one is pretty nice, I used it

No one really cares about favors ...

like

Wine stopper, chocolate, candle, honey, measuring spoons were useful

like

I got a throw blanket from the last wedding i went to. Brought it home and use it almost every day, perfect size when I’m chilly but don’t want to get under the covers.

I think food is always a crowd pleaser.

like

Late night pizza with to-go boxes to bring some back to the hotel. SO good and saved me money on late night doordash.

like

Please, NO: random figurines. Photo frames. Magnets. Coasters (bc who uses mismatched single coasters on their table? Might work if you gave a set per guest but it’s not practical and could end up with more waste). Same concept for shot glasses etc.

Favorites has always been something edible or consumable: soap, chocolate, candles. I like the honey idea above. My all time favorite was Godivas wedding cake chocolate boxes.

like

We donated to charity - it was a destination wedding, we did three days of open bar, foods, events, entertainment, and figured no one wanted candied almonds or whatever 😂

like

We are doing pizza flatbreads to go! The bus ride after the reception is about an hr

like

Chocolates in a nice box.

Ate the chocolates. Still have the box.

Charity donations are always my favorite; I’d rather see the bride and grooms money go to something useful

A key that was also a bottle opener. It was very cute and I actually put it on my keychain.

We’re looking to do a wedding reception (but will get married officially in a NYC courthouse first) for about 80 guests in fall 2022 with live music, open bar, family style dining, overlooking the ocean (but not on the beach).

Not sure where to start - it’s information overload on google so looking for any recommendations!

Hi everyone - We are thinking of changing our wedding photographer after unsatisfactory engagement photos and unsatisfactory communication (unresponsive after multiple attempts). We paid a $450 retainer which we know will be not refundable. However, we are not sure about other liability as we read our contract and found these 2 clauses (in comments). Please advise! Definitely not happy with her and would like to switch to another one but also want to make sure we make the right move. Thanks!

Word of advice - If you're considering spending the extra money on a quality vendor, do it. Several of my vendors did not care about making my day special, and they ruined the experience. Budgets are important, but make sure you weigh the pros and cons. I'm stuck with that memory forever.

Getting married in the Caribbean end of February. Going absolutely nuts with the range of my RSVP emails. Young people “can’t wait, so excited!!!!”, old people “too afraid to travel”. If it were in January I’d prob postpone, but I kinda feel like end of Feb might be ok? And who’s to say if I move it there won’t be another variant. FWIW planning to require rapid tests, the country requires vaccines everywhere, etc but people are either v comfortable or not at all. 😑 no q, just commiserating
