I fucked up a solo engagement completely and got my firm blacklisted at that client.

I got fired and found my current position which I like way more.

There’s always a way back.

Brought my new puppy to work on Saturday and it took a very liquid shit in the client’s office. I didn’t notice so they found out on Monday.

I accidentally started a fire like Ryan from The Office.

I decided to put restaurant tortilla chips in the toaster oven. I went to the fridge to get something and they started smoking. I guess they had a flammable coating, because next thing I know they were on fire. To make matters worse, we moved into this new space no more than a month ago and the flames damaged a kitchen cabinet.

I yelled for help. IT came to the rescue. Managers were understanding that it was an accident. Thankfully, I wasn’t the first kitchen fire in the company’s history.

I covered it up and hope I leave before anyone finds out. That was 5 years ago.

I plead the 5th.

At a prior firm, I once saw an older partner letching over a young grad. I’d say he was 37/38 and she was 21. I made a comment, no idea what it was as it was so long ago but suggested I thought it was inappropriate, resulted a few heated words (including the f word) and me telling him where to go. Ultimately I apologized and it was buried. Not sure it was a mistake, the guy was a creep.

I quit a job that was super challenging for me and I didn’t see the long-term benefits at the time. Never really recovered from that but arguably it’s somewhat theoretical 10 years later how things would have worked out.

It is the one thing I regret most professionally.

I’d say unique career growth opportunities - not traditional corporate but rather towards leadership and entrepreneurship. Also probably a increasingly accelerating compensation curve.

Accidentally sent a pipeline deck out instead of the weekly update to the entire client project team lol I immediately retracted the email and apologized to my director. All was fine.

Once knocked over a barrel half full of old fryer oil in the midway of a theme park while transporting it. My immediate supervisor was pissed but thankfully my big boss made the same mistake in the exact same spot the previous year as the wheels got stuck on a grate so I was off the hook.

Hi Fishes,

Please help me to do the salary re-negotiation in TCS. Initially TCS was giving 6.7 lPA when my package was 4.55 LPA. But now I got promoted and my package has increased to 6.35 so how much I can ask TCS to increase?

Thanks in Advance!

How do you stop feeling like a total idiot after making a mistake? I’m a corporate junior and I screwed up a signature page today for a closing and it’s such a dumb error that I know shouldn’t happen. I feel like this team won’t want to work with me again even though I did a pretty good job everywhere else and I’m responsive and available. I hate this error because it just looks careless and lazy. I really liked working with this team and have been beating myself up about it all day.

Each day, I feel groggy and unfocused the entire day, I keep telling myself I MUST go to bed early and wake up early. I start getting drowsy at around 9:30, I completely ignore my body's signals & either work or watch some videos on my phone until 11:30. Around midnight, I'll pass out watching something. I'll keep waking up throughout the night though and I can't wake up until 7:30 or whenever my meeting is.
Killing my work productivity, my workout motivation. Any tips on how to deal with this?

My company is telling everyone on my team that we're now going to have to be "on-call" for nights and weekends, for a full week at a time. We're already very short staffed and the team is burnt out and struggling as it is. When I asked if they would be starting on-call pay then or some other incentive the response was that we're salaried and this is nothing outside of salaried expectations. Any thoughts/advice on this? This is coming up a year into everyone working there.

NEED ADVICE 😭😭
Leaving for my 1st tradeshow cross-country. It begins @ 3pm, so my boss bought an 8 am flight of 3 hours. I've read SO MUCH *in 2022* of canceled flights ... I wouldn't freak out any other year. Also my 1st time solo @ a major airport as I've always been w/ someone! If my flight gets canceled how do I get on the NEXT earliest flight & can I check other airlines for earlier flights w/out losing money? I'd prefer a flight the night before but the extra night in a hotel was a no-go

how long is your commute, and how often do you come in?

My wife and I are looking for a new place to live. Right now our commute is nearly unbeatable. 2 minute walk to a 30 minute train, and an 8 minute walk/scooter ride to the office from the train.

I'm spoiled.

Everywhere we're looking generally requires a drive to the train, which makes every commute basically twice as long as it is currently.
