What is the cell phone reimbursement policy at ACN?

Yep. That is basically it. You could get project permission to charge it in but that is hit or miss. #dontShootTheMessenger

Think about what you're complaining about here. Maybe a couple hundred bucks a year? Trade that for 100% 401k match up to 6% and ESPP. You're splitting hairs bruh

Like bill or buying a new phone. When i was there you basically chipped in 20 bucks a month and they covered the rest. Mgrs and above only

@S1 expensing your bill. So you're telling me that even if I am using my phone to conduct work business, as a L9, one level below Associate Manager, I am on the hook for my entire phone bill? Potentially making a move to ACN and I failed to ask about this one. Might be making a mountain out of a molehill here but that seems a bit unfair.

For all practical purposes, we don't have a cell phone program. Managers and above can expense their data, but you have to be on the ACN plan through ATT. I know very few people who actually participate.

@A2 thus my mountains and molehills comments. Just trying to understand the big picture here so I appreciate the perspective.

I know. I'm just agreeing that it's a small thing to scrutinize. I think even the concept of a free phone is ridiculous.

Personally, I like not having an ACN phone. I think it adds to work/life balance. I can easily ignore work calls and emails when I am on my time.

I will say that projects are good about allowing you to expense overages and travel costs. I once had a project where 3 of us used my phone's hotspot for about 3 weeks because we couldn't get on the client's wifi, and I charged that in. And every time I travel internationally, I charge in the $10/day ATT international fee.

I’m curious to hear from people at other firms what is offered in terms of part time work or alternative work options for people that don’t really care about making partner and might want to work part time. I just had my second child and want to ask to come back from maternity leave on a part time basis but our firm doesn’t seem to have anything in place right now. If your firm offers this, what’s the billable requirement, how much of a pay cut is it, and do you still get benefits? Thanks!

Started my first job out of undergrad: base salary 105k. Grew up extremely privileged and have no debts of my own, but also no money of my own and I am completely financially illiterate. Any kind souls willing to help guide me on what I should be doing with all this money now? My company offers a 3% 401k match which I am maxing. Right now I’ve got a fat lump sum just sitting and wasting in savings.

Anyone else feel like they’re behind on the savings benchmarks? I’m close to 30 and have $35k in checking/savings and about $40k in 401k/HSAs. I do have my student loans paid off along with my car, but all the articles I’ve read say I have way too little saved. I make about 78k currently - thoughts?

Starting to learn more about FIRE and getting really excited about it. When they say save 50% of monthly income, is that including future savings like 401k and HSA? How do you save 50% when living in a HCOL city? My rent alone eats up like 35%. I also have student loans and car loans (which I got before learning about FIRE and finances). Thanks for all the insights!
