I've only ever worked at McK so my view is limited by that, but I do think there are a few differences:
1) I've done a number of projects with B4 firms; more often than not, we're advising on the talent strategy and B4 is PMOing it. There have been some hugely talented B4 people on those projects but they are relegated to more admin tasks, at least when McK is also around
2) longer projects. Those same B4 people have been on the same project for 1+years whereas McK folks cycle out and get more variety of experience
3) more senior exposure. Related to 1 above, but I think McK get more access to top mgmt.
Thanks for sharing!
OP, I think our talent strategy and org design practices are fairly strong as in not PMO but actual strat. Can't speak to the other B4 though

MBB can be compared to EY P
Rest of EY is more comparable to Accenture or other B4
Lol ok
There’s overlap for sure but big 4 will have HR projects around like PMO for an HR workday upgrade, for example. They also are more likely to be BU specific. You wouldn’t see this at MBB’s org practices - much more focused on org wide operating model, talent strategy, etc.
