Is it prudent to apply for an in house gig at a firm client that you never work with? Or would (likely?) chance the in-house legal asks their contacts at the firm about you mean it is a nonstarter? Let's assume the in-house team has 12 attorneys and is in the same city as your firm office.

Been through my 5th on-demand video interview, and it's it's terrible again. I can't seem to become friends with this on-demand video interviews and I'm loosing my confidence. More and more companies are using this to screen out individuals and I can't to seem to get this right. I got selected in Infosys and offer was about to get release today but at last minute suddenly today infy HR told I was interviewed 5 months 20 days before in infosys so they cannot proceed now as 6 months cool off period. I have 9.5 yrs of experience and am currently level 62 in Microsoft. I feel I should be Senior SE in Microsoft (level 63) but when I got microsoft offer last year the HR said it is the maximum they can give. Fixed base is 28 LPA. There is an upcoming appraisal cycle in September, so I wanted to ask how much can I expect Microsoft to adjust the base salary in this appraisal cycle ( given my performance was decent) ?

Just looking for advice. I just completed my first year as a Tax Senior at EY. With no raise, my salary is still 80k. I have had a couple of recruiters from mid size firms reach out to me saying they are looking for managers. Is there a reason why I shouldn’t pursue these?
