Looking to the next winter break, if we get one, it looks like we will need to use PTO for 4 days? Dec 23, 26, 27, Jan 30. Seem accurate to you? Planning my year. Want to make sure I have enough time
Trying to get stuff done so I can enjoy PTO, but my pet kept jumping onto the laptop, press on keyboard and lean on monitor to screw me up...so I locked him up, now he wails so loud I can't work :(
Any good holiday cocktail bars/places with xmas decorations? And not the basic ones that are packed and advertised everywhere (rolfs etc). Preferably near Greenwich Village
Does anyone know of/have experience with companies that encourage or allow remote work? What are they? Trying to move to a significant other but their city is lacking local opportunities.
For those of you who work from home at night and don't have a home office, what is your set up? Especially asking about those of you who have roommates and limited space
Memorial Day is significant for many reasons. How are you planning to celebrate the first three-day weekend since WFH-life began in March? Have a great weekend, and stay healthy and safe! 🇺🇸 😎
Kinda related since I want a healthy dog but any apartment living shiba inu, beagle, or corgi owners here? Debating between the 3 and want to ensure I can give them a proper healthy active lifestyle since I know all are fairly active. Have previously owned a beagle but lived at home so it was easy to give her enough exercise. Given we’re all WFH, it’s fairly easy I imagine to satiate the activity needed. However, I have a couple Qs based on when we eventually go back to the office...
Ladies, question - am negotiating for a new job and wondering what’s “normal” for # of annual vacation/sick days?

An employee at a London agency gets Coronavirus. Instead of implementing WFH indefinitely, they close for a few days to clean. This - both the thinking and the action - is how pandemics spread. https://www.adweek.com/agencyspy/publicis-groupe-uk-closes-turnmill-office-in-london-after-employee-tests-positive-for-covid-19/162789/
Would love anyone's genuine advice: I'm early 30s but starting to worry about my mom and her future retirement. Grew up poor/single mom who immigrated so I know she doesn't have 401k, or pension. How can start helping for this, if at all? Do any of you worry about how to help out your parent(s) in the future? If so, what avenues,if any, have you found? Sorry for the odd question, but I've always appreciated advice found in this bowl.
Looking at a Senior role for a startup that been around about 10yrs and is profitable. It’s equal to a EVP in other orgs as it reports into a Chief X Officer. They’re saying comp is low 2’s for base, bonus is $20K and equity is options. Current cash comp is about $300K/yr. thoughts?!.....
Any idea how long it might take to prepare for the Product Sense interview for FB? I know it'll vary widely based on learning style, etc, but hoping to get past experiences or ballpark. I have a product design background, but know that the interview follows a specific format
Something that's been on my mind is how working remote is actually potentially helping the chronically ill. (At least, it's helping me). I have several chronic conditions - physical and emotional. I have struggled noticeably since I first started working full time - when you're chronically ill, such a rigid schedule and environment can really make certain conditions worse. I'll continue below by describing how much better I'm doing and also thoughts on how to proceed as we go back to "normal"

Laid off due to COVID, what certs should I dive into to be more marketable? I have a generalist analyst background, eventually want to go into solutions architect roles. But right now just looking for a good role to gain more experience, it’s hard out here

Anyone is willing to switch to remotely after the covid? I feel like working from home has given me some extra time to do my chores since I don't commute. Of course, I still perform the same amount of work and it has no impact of my efficiency
