Anyone have experience with interviewing at Slalom? Recruiter reached out about an Emerge role about a month ago. I said from the beginning that I was open to travel but was not moving. They indicated this wouldn't be a prob. Go through all the interviews, including an interviewer asking what I needed to convince me to come on board. they were just there to close the deal. Phone call today indicated the director did not approve of remote and could I move. I assume this isn't normal?
Hey everyone, I applied for an entry level role at Microsoft a little over a month ago and I even got a referral for it, and I also reached out to recruiters who told me to go ahead and apply. Does it usually take this long for Microsoft to get back to applicants? The role starts in January so i feel like it’s already been filled. I just don’t want to accept another position with out hearing back from Microsoft first. Any advice would be much appreciated!
I got a job referral!!! Please send me good vibes!! I need my career to have some momentum. I need to be able to purchase a house and get a grad degree. I’m trying to be the immigrant parents ideal child.

How do you know when you’re ready for a role without a boss (in the same discipline)? New opportunities that I am in the running for would have me reporting into the founder, president, ceo or similar. I don’t know if I’m ready to run an entire department without a direct boss but maybe I’m just doubting myself? Would love to hear advice from senior people. Thanks!
Anybody know of account/strategy work in Portland? From what I can see most shops out there aren't hiring.

I’ve been doing rev cycle consulting for a little under 2 years & I just know it’s not for me. I have an MHA and am more interested in management and operations in a hospital/clinical setting. I don’t want to pursue a career in rev cycle, and am hoping to find my way to some sort of operations, patient experience, or general departmental management position in a hospital. I think the hardest part is figuring out what type of “entry level” position is the right start. Any advice is appreciated!
I may be in a position to pick from the following firms: Jackson Lewis Jackson Walker Baker Donelson Littler Mendelson Frost Brown Todd I'm not sure what paycomp looks like, any insight for 1-3 year associates? I'm trying to do more L&E work, I've enjoyed a lot of what I've done in it and would like to continue doing work on that front. Aside from Jackson W., the other firms will be in smaller markets (think OKC/KC) for salary ranges, billables, WL, thanks for all the help!
Anyone work at Genentech willing to chat for a referral? I interned there a few years ago and looking to make the switch to strategic business dev or patient advocacy relations.
SF or NYC for EY Parthenon strategy? I'm 50/50 on either, obviously went to school in the bay and love the idea of nyc but it seems if I want to exit into tech it's better to stay in sf? My team has a much smaller presence in NYC which is also a factor. Would love any insight.EY-Parthenon
Suggestions & best practices for seeking a career mentor? & maintaining the relationship? Currently in a People Manager, Customer Success role in an early stage start up. I've had dozens of informal chats with targeted industry professionals, but I'd love to have an ongoing relationship with a mentor. At minimum, someone who is a few years ahead in a similar role who can have a 30 min chat monthly.
I got a generic feeling recruiting call yesterday from Deloitte. Very excited about my profile, wants me to meet some partners in the office, and “clear path to equity partnership.” I jumped in at that last point and said I was a partner at McKinsey right now, so obviously wouldn’t be interested in a non-equity role, but would love to meet people (why not?). Recruiter said that “everyone joins as an MD” and it wasn’t likely gong to be a fit if I was framing it like that. What the actual f?

Accenture Hello, this past December I applied to a Devops role at Accenture. I didn’t get the position but I looked on their website and noticed they have an software engineer apprenticeship. I emailed the recruiter about the apprenticeship but she didn’t get back to be. But after telling me I didn’t get the position she did say to wait six months to apply for another position. I really think I would be a good fit for the apprenticeship. What can anyone recommend? Can I possibly get a referral.

I am joining Accenture in a month. I am an extreme driver and I tend to drive all the conversations in all meetings, no matter if they are above or below my grade. I'm also a straight shooter and sometimes so straightforward that people perceive me as "hostile". I work hard though and I like to set up meetings super late/early and sometimes in the weekend. Will I fit in Accenture and will Accenture appreciate this?

Cleavage at work/on client site: yay or nay?
Not sure how consulting firms expect to retain talent out of undergrad if they barely raise pay. Left consulting after 1 year, end of 2nd year and I’m at 180k comp now with friends at D and PWC barely hitting 85. I know seniors at D not even making 100k
Just curious, what’s everyone’s salary progression been like since you’ve started working?
I'm 28, good paying job, healthy yet I feel scarily anxious all the time. I see my peers who went to high school with me working in Walmart and not giving a shit about anything. What gives??

So I don't want kids, but I can kinda get behind how fun it is to mangle their favorite artists. I asked my step-niece if her favorite singer Billie Eyelash was a K-Pop band and I thought she was gonna scream.
