What is the funniest gift a student has given you? Last year for my birthday, one of my students gave me a raw red potato lol 😂

A cute gift from Jordan (her home country) and a note saying that God would help my ears stop ringing because she was going to the first grade and taking her BIG voice with her! Ha-Ha, I miss that child but not how loud she was.

I had a 2nd grader but me a medium wool sweater one year for Christmas. Such a sweet gift except I’m 6’1” and 230 pounds. My wife told me to give it away, but I knew Chris would want to see me in that sweater after the break. Sure enough a week or so after we’re back he was like so when are you going to wear that sweater? The next day o squeezed into that hot itchy wool sweater like a sausage. He was sooooo happy and proud. Thank god he never asked me to wear it again.

My son was having nightmare and a student brought me an egg because in his culture it stops bad dreams if you sleep with it under a pillow. It was very sweet but funny too.

A dusty basket with a teacher's appreciation sentiment on it. From a student I didn't expect anything from. When I voiced my appreciation, he said "Yeah it is amazing what you can get at garage sales!" Lol

I had a student say that she had been praying for me. She thought it was working because she said I hadn't been getting frustrated as much lately. Out of the mouth of babes! Lol

A plastic hippo with a monopoly top hat taped to it's head. The student told me it was from her mom. This student was a very challenging Foster Child. I told her if it was from her Mom it was very special. Was she sure she wanted to give it to me? She said yes, and I cherish it. Well, not exactly funny...

20 scratch off lottery tickets Once a parent summoned me to the office to hand deliver a gift. She opened her purse and handed me a huge bottle of Russian vodka in the middle of a room that included students. I turned beet red and the adults watching all started laughing.

I had a student give me her mom’s “magic finger” as a Christmas gift. I’m sure Mom always wondered what happened to it....

Colleague said the PA call she just got off of wasn’t that bad. She said everyone with 50% or lower chargeability was already put in a bucket of people they’d look at to put as ‘not progressing,’ and that the stories from the CCs would end up being the differentiator. The only real bloodbath was the CCs fighting to try to keep their counselees out of the NP bucket. Most CCs came well prepared.
