How do the economics of this city work?

I make ~150K & get 8K per month net.

Assuming I have 3K rent + 1K for (car + insurance) + 1K for (grocery + utilities + misc expenses), I’m left with 3K/month saving which is 36K/yr.

If I decide to buy a 1M house/townhouse/apartment, I’ll need to put down 200K deposit which will take ~5-6 years - IS THIS NORMAL?

Started a new job at tiny company that led me to believe things about them that aren’t true. I pay mostly or 100% for benefits, it’s not comprehensive & will have to wait two more months to use. Their only design person is their creative director and 3 years out of college. My second paycheck had $600 taken out for “correction for payroll” but no email or communication to me why (still waiting to hear). Projects are boring, but I’m trying to be positive. Going to start looking for a new job.

Real question: how does a hospital system using a leading EHR not know where in the facility a patient is? Father brought in via ambulance at 215pm.....and when my mother called a few hours later for an update on his status they had no idea where he was. She played “transfer me to Dept X bingo” (ED, med/surg, OR, PACU), til she found a nurse who knew where he was. How does this happen?
