I don't see why you would change, just be upfront and tell them you are applying to x schools and the questions will be slightly different so it will be a bit time consuming. It's a once in a lifetime effort, if they're not up to help you then they're prob the wrong people to recommend you
Mentor
I asked same two each to write one for 5 schools. I think it is part of being a manager and a good leader. I’ll remember the work they put in when it comes a time to write one for others. Be prepared to help them do a lot of the homework. Point them in the right direction
Coach
The questions are very similar across schools. Fine to ask the same people if you help them figure out what they can leverage and what they should customize.
Perfectly fine to ask them for multiple schools, but be considerate: be sure to give them as much lead time as you can, especially if you are asking them to write letters for several schools with different questions or emphases.
